Sadly, a doc l know commutes 120 minutes one way everyday, however is well-paid. But this commute does age him.
I nap while I am on the bus, but the real killer is having to wait for a bus transfer for 45 minutes downtown, in a rather unsafe part of the city. Earlier I only had to wait five minutes. What did you do while you rode along?
Sleep?
Listen to audio books?
Eat?
What?
That's good you worked it out. Being able to put money in a rainy day fund is better than squeaking by. Most everyone has had to put up with some crap involving work and almost every anecdote I have about telling an employer to piss up a rope and quitting or being fired came with a price on the back end.OK, so I talked with my boss and we now have an agreement. I am showing up at the office every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesdays and Thursdays I will work remote. And I will give her a report of all I have done at the end of every shift instead of just giving her a large number at the end of the month like I have been doing.
Well, I got a venti mocha this morning during my wait downtown. I had the barista put a couple of extra shots into it since I wanted to spend more time in bed this morning and I had to force myself to get up, shower, get dressed and leave for the office. I think this will be a nice habit for me to develop, at least until bus service gets restored to what it used to be. I am a caffeine junkie, who is actively avoiding the heroin junkies, but we all need our fix.
