Can you confirm what operating system and browser you're using please?
cleared cache and restarted - didn't help. do i need to clean "cookies and site data" as well? i am afraid it'll log me out from everywhere, it'll take me a lot of time to log back in the many websites i useAnything odd in a web page - it's often worth clearing the cache (in settings as a rule) on that browser and restarting it. Especially if it's a weird one (no-one else getting it, or odd behaviour).
Usually it's the 'cached images and files' that are mostly likely to have become corrupted and cause issues, so it's probably not your cache (the cache is just one of those - "fixes 75% of weird browser problems" options that's quick and easy to try).cleared cache and restarted - didn't help. do i need to clean "cookies and site data" as well? i am afraid it'll log me out from everywhere, it'll take me a lot of time to log back in the many websites i use
Just out of interest, you ought to also see the threads title in your browser's titlebar like this (this is Chrome)...cleared cache and restarted - didn't help. do i need to clean "cookies and site data" as well? i am afraid it'll log me out from everywhere, it'll take me a lot of time to log back in the many websites i use
Ah! I see this next to a new (unwritten or unposted) post, but next to existing posts it shows ok.I haven't had those issues yet, but when I'm posting I can see information under everyone else's avatars but not my own.
[Edit] Could it be a fonts issue? Conflicting statements in css scripting?

Yes, that's exactly as it is for me too, only where I'm replying. Everything else is normal. (up to a point)This occurs for me, too, but only next to the reply box.
Actually, now you mention, the attachment part when editing a post with a graphic usually only shows in the editing window, not in the post itself. Or at least as I recall?Yes, that's exactly as it is for me too, only where I'm replying. Everything else is normal. (up to a point)
The reason I queried CSS scripting is because there's also display size issues in different areas. The logo at the top of the page has been reduced to about 10% of it's actual size, but take a look at Boogs's post above. His attachment displays correctly inside the post but under his post the attachment is about 10 times it's original size. That type of size formatting for different sections is normally in the CSS scripts for the site.

I think the way it shows in your post is from using the Add Attachment feature instead if Insert Media.Actually, now you mention, the attachment part when editing a post with a graphic usually only shows in the editing window, not in the post itself. Or at least as I recall?
Sort of the same phrase I've used for many years - Fat Fingers Error.Sausage fingers strikes again!
Well, I ought to mention my fingers are actually slim and beautifully proportioned, though I say so myself, but the idiot at the controls acts likes he's well sloshed most of the time. You'd wince at how many mistakes I have to correct after typing a post. Worse, for some reason some I only spot some after I've posted, regardless of checking the original first. <sigh!>Sort of the same phrase I've used for many years - Fat Fingers Error.![]()
