Trolling people online.

Thrills and adrenaline are what make me feel alive. I have other hobbies but they don't often have me feel alive like when I hurt people so they don't feel as furfilling and I felt feel that I'm just "killing time".

If it's about thrills and adrenaline, then what about trying out some extreme sports? If you like being competitive, then possibly martial arts could be something to look into? You would get the thrill and adrenaline during competitive fights, sense of satisfaction from growth of your skills and getting fit, as well as a potential feeling of camaraderie between your and other fighters.

If you prefer to stay with computers, then possibly a bit more professional competitive gaming could be fun to you, especially as in specific circumstances 'baiting' is accepted and even expected.

Perhaps you need to look around for alternatives, and be prepared to experiment and try out new activities. @onlything mentions extreme sports. For those who engage in extreme sports, the thing that drives them is the adrenaline rush, it might give you that hit you are after? Or gaming, but try out different games to see what works for you.

This might sound odd, but when I think of this line, compare it with everything you've said before, and extrapolate a bit.... you sound a bit like me. I wonder if the same solution I use might work.

I need a challenge... a real CHALLENGE to overcome... in order to get satisfaction from pretty much anything. If there is no challenge, no difficulty, no strong opponent to defeat, then I always wonder... where's the fun?

The suggestion made about competitive gaming might be what you need. You want to feel strong, while doing non-physical things? Get into some aspect of competitive gaming, and get so good at it that you simply stop losing. Climb that ladder until you hit that point. The excitement and satisfaction of getting ever stronger, and that feeling of being unstoppable... that's one way to do it, in a world where computers and related things are more and more part of our daily lives. I tell ya, there really isnt anything else like it.

Dont get me wrong: it's not easy. It'll be hard. Very hard. But holy heck is it *fun*. And unlike trolling, you wont have opponents who merely look down on you even if you "win", or who just walk away from you rather than engage with you simply because they find what you're doing to be an irritating waste of time. Rather, they are there for the same reason: to get in a good clean fight, so to speak. Dont get me wrong, there ARE certainly toxic snotbags out there, but most of the time, you'll have *real* opponents. People who want to be part of that battle.

You can even experience the act of impressing the heck out of everyone. Making people go "WOW. You see what that guy is doing? That's amazing!" I tell ya, there's nothing like having a bloody crowd formed behind you at some public event, purely because of some incredible display of skill you're showing.

Heck, it doesnt even need to be competitive stuff, if you'd rather not deal with people. Just games that are really freaking hard. You can still get the challenge and satisfaction and a crowd can still form even with that.

What I'm saying is: You sound *exactly* like so many people I've met in that hobby who are there because they *need* a challenge, because they need that uphill power struggle, due to it being what they thrive on.

There is one caveat though, if you were to decide to get into this: You *cannot* let anger overwhelm you at any point. That is the rule that must not be broken. If you allow it to happen, your chances of achieving those high levels will drop to zero. You *will* lose. It is by far the fastest path towards your own defeat. Pros dont allow that to happen, period. Those who do.... soon arent pros anymore.

One thing is for certain, it's way, WAY more exciting than just going "lol u suck" online towards random people for nothing resembling a reason.

Well how can I find the means to feel joy without harming others?

You use words like hurt and harm and inflicting pain. But from what I have read the only examples you've given is just garden variety griefing and pranking.

I mean if I was being trolled by you what pain and harm would I be experiencing and in what way?

Sometimes but not often I might slap or jab or throw an object at someone if I'm trolling someone IRL. Though it's been so long I don't really know of any instances on top of my head.

Sometimes whenever I start trolling someone without doing some direct physical action they might scream or get noticeably upset.

On a side note: I once got the full real world name, exact address, phone number, and zip code of this lolcow online and I gave her a call with a burner app told her to kill herself and I ordered bunch a pizzas to be sent to her house.

But the only games played at EVO or whatever is fighting games, MMOFPS's like Overwatch, and RTS games which I all suck at. I'm bad at gaming in general. It took me hours and hours to savescum and just barely finish final stage in Deus Ex. BTW I'm so stupid that I chose the worst ending in that game.

Yes, but how much did you TRY?

I'm nearly freaking invincible when it comes to fighting games, but even I sucked hard at it when I first started. As did all pros, whether they're willing to admit it or not. Even the strongest start out weak. I remember a time when I couldnt do a freaking Hadouken. I probably spelled that wrong.

If you want to be good at something like that, you gotta put in the time. And experience the pain of defeat often enough. There is no other way. And, you cant give up so easily. Take the freaking hits, and keep going. That's how it works for everyone.

You CAN do it, if you allow yourself to. Stop saying that you cant.

I don't really know which I should bother to master though I only wanna e-sport 1 game cuz mastering multiple wastes a lot of time. How do I figure it out?

As someone who used to deliver pizzas, all that happens from prank pizza orders is that customer says they didn’t order anything and pizza delivery driver makes less than minimum wage for their time because they didn’t receive a tip (pizza delivery drivers are considered “tipped” employees now and make less than minimum wage) and pizza place loses money.

And if neighborhood is rough, pizza delivery person might be threatened with violence for knocking on a door in the late evening.

People who are pranked with pizza orders being delivered never actually pay for the pizzas, since they are under no obligation to pay for something they did not order.

Well maybe that's where @BrokenBoy gets his adrenaline from, the anxiety of the potential threat to be humiliated and looked down on, or even seriously punished; pornhub links, dox-like pizza prank and the like.

Just sounds like typical youngster pestering and pranks to me.

The pizza prank is very old school. I have heard of much worse being done like "swatting" people.

Honestly, just try a bunch of them, and pick whichever one you like more. There really isnt much else to the process, not that I know of. I know some players stick only to certain developers for whatever reason, but it's kinda silly to do that. Find one that you think is fun, and just roll with it. Though, dont stick with one if the controls feel "off" to you. A good fighting game has smooth, tight controls. When things get clunky, they get frustrating.

If you're not sure what a given game is like, just have a look on Youtube at some gameplay footage. I find that it's usually quite easy to get a sense for what one is like just from videos. I also *might* be able to answer questions on certain ones. There are a TON of fighting games, so there's plenty I'm not familiar with. I dont recall which specific ones are around EVO though. Also I have a memory like a cheese grater.

Also, if you try one and find you like it, good chance you'll also like others by that same developer (because the style tends to be the same), so try those too and compare. But it's not really necessary.

But yes, you're right to pick just one and stick with it. That's the best way to learn, whether it's fighting games, or some other competitive genre like shooters or something. If you want to add more later on, you can always do that. But definitely start with just one.

Oh yeah, swatting is *bad*. It seems to happen to streamers alot. There's plenty of videos of what happens when it's done... it gets nasty. Ugh.

Not to mention it's the sort of "prank" that can land the person doing the swatting in prison. I seem to recall a story about that happening to someone who had done multiple instances of swatting? I cant remember his name. It was quite the story though.

I think a natural reaction to feeling powerless and frustrated is to do things that make one feel powerful and in control.

I really appreciate your straightforwardness and honesty about issues you are having, you seem to have an issue and are not lying or misrepresenting and are looking for actual answers. This is actually sort of a brave thing.

So I don’t want to give you too hard of a time, but it kind of seems like you have developed some bad habits to deal with frustrations. I actually don’t know what the solution is, and it’s hard to change, but there are better solutions out there

Police swat team apparently shot and killed innocent guy because of something about online video game argument. Swattie gave fake address and swatter sent swat team to the wrong address which was that of an unsuspecting innocent families house and swat team thought guy was reaching for a gun or something and shot and killed guy who had no idea what was going on.

By the way, I wish media would make a bigger deal of such things or make a bigger deal of things like when black cops shot an unarmed white guy and killed his autistic son.

These things are personal to me, because I have repeatedly been almost only white person and when I get stressed out and start pacing like a caged animal as I do, police and security lose all interest in everyone black and focus on me. I have joked about this with my black neighbors and with blacks in my group therapy, and they do not take offense, because when people see me when I get like this, they get it, but it just sounds racist trying to explain it. And I get it, because it really does look like I am on drugs and about to attack and might do anything violent at any time, but it’s just overwhelming nervous energy and police are relying on stereotypes and appearances and crazy looking white guy doing nothing wrong but behaving in an extremely bizarre manner trumps fears of blacks doing nothing wrong

@Misery has the right idea here - while everyone may have some degree of natural ability, no one gets a mastery of something without a great deal of effort. If you're interested in mastering a game, choose one, work on it - and stick with it. According to research, it can take as much as 10 000 hours of an active effort to master an ability - and the 'active' part needs to be pronounced here, since simply passive doing something is not enough. Active effort is when you consciously focus on getting better in the activity and achieve little milestones with each day. Since it takes so much strength and persistence, make sure you like what you do and focus on enjoying the process, not on a final goal. As it's said 'With one eye focused on the destination there's only one left to guide you along the way'. Create a specific goal, make a plan for it, track it and stick with it - and, I assure you, you'll get better no matter the perceived IQ, intelligence and wisdom.

You need to try and explore many things befor you find one that you enjoy and want to get great at. If you have the desire to become a master gamer for a specific title, then you have the potential to do so, but as any road to mastery, it will be long and arduous. Keep going. Even if you practice it or explore for five minutes in a day, you get slowly better. Regular practice and dedication are the key. Additionally, the more you work on it, the better you get at it - the more passionate and confident you'll feel. So stop hesitating and focusing on limiting beliefs - start working on it.

That seems pretty childish.

Were you bored, or what?
Didn't like the teacher?
Didn't enjoy the class?
Sometimes people troll because they are bored, get childish, want to get into mischief like ring a doorbell and run away kinda thrill or throw rocks at a wasp nest and run away laughing, othertimes they are frustrated with something and stir up chaos and get a laugh out of it.
