Underrated animated movies

We all know the big names of animation, such as "Lion King", "The Little Mermaid", "Frozen" and all the other prominent and iconic Disney classics that are so renowned, however there are some animated movies either from the Disney canon and especially outside of Disney that are remarkable in their own ways and are no less deserving of praise and recognition. Movies like:

Watership Down
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
The Secret of NIMH
The Plague Dogs
When the Wind Blows

Are there any other animated masterpieces that aren't well known and that you feel are very underrated?

Probably well-known, but not getting the recognition it deserves. The behavior of farm animals as a metaphor for the Russian Revolution.

The first animated feature that truly left me thinking...reading the book years later in high school.

I like the Ralph Bakshi movies I’ve seen: Fritz the Cat, Coonskin, Wizards, and Fire and Ice. I can’t link them, though, because they aren’t safe for work. Still, they should be watched.

The more recent animated DC movies I’ve watched should be noticed more. They would be Justice League vs. Teen Titans, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, and Wonder Woman: Bloodlines.

EDIT: I can’t believe I forgot about Final Fantasy VII Advent Children!

And 1962's Gay Purr-ee:

Big name box office voices, but this animated feature bombed at the box office. In growing up, animated features tended to be dominated by Disney. Otherwise it was a tough sell to succeed at the box office.

While NOT underrated, Koe no Katachi is not well known. It is not fast moving, but the animation, music, and emotion works nicely.

I love much from Ardman Animations and think their best is The Curse of the Were Rabbit. Only they could get away with featuring a role for Stinking Bishop cheese. British humor at its best.

Animal Farm scared me as a kid watching it for the 1st time in 10th grade. Especially the scene when the dogs execute the rebelling chickens and smear in blood a corollary to the 10 commandments as the chickens shriek in harrowing agony: "All animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

I'll make sure to check all these movies out. I'm trying to expand my repertoire of animated movies watched, so the more underrated gems the better.

I should check that movie out. Some people I know compare it to "Coco", a movie I really love heavily centered on Mexican culture and their traditions of life and death.

Coco is one of my favorites :)
I also had a dog named Coco, but that was before the movie came out.

I have many.

from Disney:
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Hercules
Atlantis
Emperors new groove
Treasure Planet

others:

Cats don’t dance
Swan princess
Anastasia

This probably sounds funny because everyone on here knows that my name is Luca, but there's a Pixar movie called "Luca" that came out last year that I thought was great, although I haven't heard a lot of people talk about it.
No, not because of my name :p It's a good movie. And the title character is male, and Italian. So definitely not me lol.
Luca is a pretty popular name nowadays.

Definitely not underrated, but I still need to watch Encanto.
