Upcoming games you are excited about

Inzoi! Freaking Inzoi! I only just now remembered that this exists.

FINALLY someone comes around and actually dares to create a real competitor to The Sims. Like, I always loved The Sims... I still have very fond memories of the earlier games... but once 4 came along EA was entirely in control and the whole thing had been corporatized. Recently it got turned into yet another "live service" rather than them making Sims 5 (which is what everyone actually wanted). The whole thing has become very soulless and bland.

I've seen a whole bunch of gameplay for Inzoi, and it looks grand (and hilarious). A wildly different style, but I think that's a good thing.

I remembered just now to check for a release date (which had been ambiguous through last year, it was always just "first quarter 2025" and now there's a concrete date, which is the end of March. One month!


I havent been this excited for an upcoming game in awhile.
 
Not sure if this one has been posted before, but another one I'm keeping an eye on. Looks like dark Disney :) I really dig the animation.

 
Ya know, I wasnt interested in the Switch 2 up to this point. I mean I dont even use the original one I have, it just sits there.

And then I find out that they're making a new Tomodachi Life. NOW I'm interested. I absolutely would buy an entire console just for that.

I remember now, one of the reasons I dont follow things like trailers and news of upcoming games. I haaaaaaaaate hearing about an exciting upcoming release when "upcoming" means "in like a year or two maybe".

There's an Enter the Gungeon sequel coming too. Also in 2026.

Why must they torment me with announcements?

I really gotta stop reading gaming-related things.

The new Tomodachi life will be on the original switch. The Switch 2 version may have some added features including game chat but it would be playable on the switch 1 if you just want Tomodachi life.

I agree about announcing stuff over a year ahead of release. It feels like I've been waiting for games like Legends Z-A for a long time.

Ah, that's good to hear.

Particularly after hearing how much the new console is going to be selling for.

I mean good grief, $500, I heard.

Even though I can afford that, it's getting harder and harder to justify buying consoles. The vast majority of the games I could play on a console can be played on my drastically more powerful PC instead... Nintendo's first party games being the only exception I can think of. Well, and a couple of very specific games that are on the PS5, which is very irritating.

Even when it comes to handheld mode... it'd have a hard time competing with my overpowered phone. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I used the Switch in handheld mode probably less than 10 times in total.

I do have an Xbox Series X, but that was just abruptly given to me by a friend for... some reason.


As for stuff being announced, you know what is even more aggravating than things being announced long before release? How about stuff that is announced long before, but then when it FINALLY gets close to release, OH BOY they push it back like 8 months, time to wait longer, bah.

I'm STILL waiting on Streets of Rogue 2 to hit early access, that's probably my most anticipated game and it was supposed to happen like in October. Should be any century now.
 
Not particularly excited about any future Resident Evil game anymore. RE8 showed me they can be excessively corny and inconsiderate towards prior canon. Like how they retconned everything to try to make it all add up. 😏

It's so funny how Capcom has a chance to bring back long forgotten characters to clear up the mess they caused, by introducing them in the first place. But all they do is bleed dry the old games. Because apparently, RE1 may be getting remade again. So the rumours went from RE0, to RE1.

At this point, I don't know why I feel mad about this crap. They do what they do for the money. It may suck, but this is just how it is. 😅

Did... did they do that whole article because one voice actor winked at someone?

Was this like a slow news day, or what?

As for RE8, honestly it seems that retcons are just sort of an inevitable point of many franchises that either get way too long or way too convoluted. And that is one looooooooooong series.
 
RE8 is awful, though. As sad as it sounds, I even think RE6 is more playable. I know that's probably gonna sound unpopular. 😃

At least you see the faces of the characters. Except for that "Agent" guy. The John Carver wannabe. He was just added in so Ada could have a sidekick in her scenario.

I have to disagree there. In VR it's an amazing experience. While I consider myself a big fan of the series, I don't care one bit about the canon though. The series has gone on too long that I don't pay attention to half of the story in them anymore, it's too difficult to keep up with.
