Visual snow anyone?

When I turn off the light at night, I get a kind of rapidly pulsing afterglow that lasts for a few seconds and fades.

I see always a bit of blackisch spots (tiny) in my visual field. But it mostly isnt that strong outside. I thought it was normal as well. But im glad that you maked a topic about it.

Wow, yes! It's amazing how many things I find in this forum that are exactly my experience! It happens to me too but I thought this is the default mode for everyone. Especially in artificial or dim light, I can notice the tv-like dots. Looking at the laptop now, they're very clear. Also, sometimes I get these honeycomb patterns, very small and contoured by brighter light, and they're moving slowly or rotating or something, it's hard to describe.
Also, when the light is bright, during the day, everything will have a weird dream-like quality, it will seem a bit... flowy?glowy? I can't even put these things into words.

Floater is a often associated with it but its a bit different.
You can find it on google but ill try to explain.

Its like looking at an old tv screen , you have little dots all around your vision , but this isnt floaters, you have floaters at the same time but it isnt the same .
You have also sometimes lines around objects.
After images even when its not very in a strong lighthing , for instance in my flat I have a floor tile and if I look at it a few sec I will have lines in my vision for a sec if I move my head.

You can also have some "waves" in your viison sometimes, it happens for me but its rare to be honest, its like a circle that its closing itself from the outside to the middle of your vision and to me this is synchronized with my pulse when it happens.

Its never ending,;but its easier to notice when you close your eyes, when you look at the sky, or when you look at walls/ in lower light settings.

I forgot to put a survey with the topic :(

You just explained for the most part what I've been seeing for the past 10 years. I never knew that "visual snow" was something that was documented as a possible medical condition. From what I've read, it seems I have the pulse type where the dots seem to swirl but mine become bright then fade. The afterimage, wave and vs can be triggered with concentration or if I'm tired. This is the first day on this forum and I've read so many post that resonate with me that it's almost scary.

*Edit*: After looking into I don't think I have visual snow but a very strong blue field entopic phenomenon. The wave and afterimage phenomenon are definitely present.

I have experienced visual snow as well, but it only tends to happen naturally during the more acute phases of my migraines. When I first brought it up with a doctor I claimed that it seemed like everything in my vision became "pixelated ", but describing it as looking snowy or grainy makes sense as well. My grandmother, who also suffered from migraines with visual snow, described her vision as almost being like that of a "mosaic" when the migraines occured, which I found to be an especially clever description.

Anyway, If I think about it enough I can artificially force the affect to happen when I am not having a migraine, but I usually don't try because there is no purpose to it. My neurologist claimed that anybody could do that, but I do not actually know what their source for that claim was so I cannot verify it. If that is true, then it might explain why so few people on this thread claim to be unable to see the visual snow.
