Volcanic Destruction of Homes in Hawaii

Stunning just to see this USGS map indicating that developers don't seem to be the least bit intimidated by Mother Nature in where they build streets and commercial or residential buildings. Mind boggling given such a clear history of previous lava flows and toxic gasses considering the unpredictability of eruptions.

All those people who believed this wouldn't happen "in their backyard". :eek:
