What are you doing for Christmas?

Taking a break from work, not much else. The gift giving is stressful, I have stopped doing this in recent years and usually just phone or write to people to wish them Merry Christmas.

Also, the constant hoilidays at that time of years is stressful for the disruption they bring, shops closing regularly and for two days in a row, not being able to get anything done, services not working or understaffed, etc. Chaos.
Yeah I understand what you mean. The stress and chaos it brings is devastating! I try to make sure I'm done with all shipping and stuff like that before December comes as otherwise it's just too much.

Hubby and I always travel to the Yucatan for several weeks on the beach. Family members are welcome to join us there if they wish. I create some decorations for our condo from whatever local stuff I can find, and make some traditional Mexican foods, such as turkey tacos. We are totally laid back, non-stressed, and happy doing that every year. I do make a huge Thanksgiving dinner for everyone but I don't care if people think I'm a bad grandma for not spending all my time and effort for my grandchildren at Christmas.

That sounds like a wonderful way to spend Christmas :)
It is! My mother and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen together, which is great bonding time. My grandfather used to sing with his impressive baritone voice at the end of the night when everyone’s a little (or very) tipsy. This’ll be the first Christmas without my grandfather. It’s going to feel weird.

I'm curious to know what everyone is doing for Christmas this year? And if you don't celebrate it what will your December be like?

I personally love Christmas, mostly because it is just a really fantastic time of year as it seems to bring the good out in everyone, like seeing people sing carols and people being more giving.

I used to love seeing my family so excited and happy at this time of year as well.
For me that's what really makes Christmas special for me :)

What will you be doing this year and do you enjoy Christmas shopping and gift giving?

I don't like Christmas shopping really, I find gift giving very complex and shopping too stressful because of how loud stores are and how busy they get. But overall I enjoy the Christmas period.
I will be doing nothing unusual, glad that there is only one more week to the season and I can begin to go off antidepressants until next October. This is the season for celebrating friendship and togetherness, something I have never had and can never have, despite an intense longing and desire for it all my life. This is not a good time of year for me.

Spend all the day studying, until night. At night is time to party: microwave pizza + scary stories on youtube.

In perspective, it sucks to be me. I hope 2020s Christmas is better.

same for me

I'm unsure, however my excitement for Christmas and my bday that follows 3 days after it have waned the past couple years (it's a bit complicated/long story), but I'll likely be doing my usual: be cooped up in my room playing video games or reading

I'll very likely be doing what I do every year, which is go stay at my parent's house. We actually have our turkey at suppertime and then open presents on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day my parents go to relatives for a potluck dinner party, which I used to go to also but I stay at my parents now because it's just too crowded and noisy and I don't care for the food that much. I usually go to my parents on Christmas Eve and go home on Boxing Day. If I stay too long I get really bored and overanxious to get my gifts home, and I go visit my parents again on New Year's Day, anyway.
