What are your current obsessions?

For about 10 years or so, I have been obsessed with reading in-depth details concerning how famous people died (especially Hollywood legends like Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, etc.). Specifically, this site started it all: Findadeath - Celebrity Deaths

I can't say that I relate specifically to how famous people died; however, I love reading information on famous people in general, such as Thomas Jefferson. I can spend hours on Wikipedia just reading link after link. Come to think of it, I think I am just obsessed with Wikipedia lol.

Reading my illustrated books about Birds of Britain and Europe, rearranging my aquarium decor and running my four YouTube channels.

I have never had an aquarium, but that seems very relaxing rearranging the decor in it. I like rearranging my desk all the time lol.

I've had my aquarium for about 6 months now and I've slowly been adding plants and ornaments and it looks great especially since I got a cool blue moon light which enhances it. If you like fish I strongly recommend it and it is so relaxing watching them swim gracefully in the water. Its also fairly cheap too. The whole set up cost me about ?120 including a filter and the tank with all the accessories.

Photoshop.

It's an off/on obsession of mine.

I had CS3 back in the day, with a drawing tablet and all (back in 2006). I think I loved it so much because of the detail you can put into pictures and editing. After my Macbook I went back to pc and have not touched it since. I do miss it at times but, it is so freaking expensive lol.

I will have to look into it. I had a roommate back in the day who had a big salt water tank, in which he dumped about 10k USD into it. So I never thought twice about having one lol.

For the last couple years, my car. Chrysler Laser '84, 2.2 Turbo EFI. Knew nothing about cars when I started working on her, and learned a lot really fast. Lots of swell things to tweak and fiddle with on those 2.2's, especially easy mods like exhaust, cam adjustments, and a few custom things I figured out by being obsessive.

Also a story world that I have been working on since I was 13. If I could write better, I'm sure it would be at least semi-interesting. I have worked out a monetary system, general geography, economic markets, clothing, and customs for most of the world that is used in each of the stories which take place there (some stories are in different countries). I have worked on characters and world details at least a few days each week for the last twelve years.

Do you have an opinion on the cause of the death of Marilyn Monroe?

The only probable conspiracy theory that I think makes sense is that she could have been murdered because of her alleged affairs with JFK and RFK, but I don't really think it all adds up. I think she overdosed, plain and simple.

I think so too... by accident. People who knew her said she had to take sleeping pills, and they would have an effect on her that caused her to want more and more, but not as an attempt at hurting herself.

Maybe that's just it; we get obsessed with things because we feel that we must finish what we start.

And that's the main cause of procrastination for me, I guess. If I don't think I'm able to finish a task or don't know exactly how I should do it, I'll keep procrastinating and avoiding starting it, cause I know that disappointment can spark one of those weeks when I feel really bad about myself...

SF stories that deal with evolution?especially ones where the process of evolution is greatly sped up?and ones with mad scientists.

I recommend the Edmond Hamilton SF short story The Man Who Evolved to anyone here that's interested in evolution. It's the first SF short story that impressed Isaac Asimov so much it stayed in his mind permanently. It can be downloaded, legally, for free here.

Perhaps this is a little unusual in the land of Asperghia, but I have noticed occasionally that I will develop an obsession that lasts for a single day.

Since I am constantly seeing a lot of anti-GMO sentiment in my Facebook feed, not least concerning alleged adverse health effects associated with them, I am finally taking time to read up on it.

I develop short-term obsessions when I have to learn something. Actually, this happens all the time when I'm going to buy something. For instance, toothpaste. I needed toothpast, and I realized that different products had different active ingredients. So I threw myself into internet research to learn which active ingredients were the most effective. Shortly after procuring the desired information, my obsession ended.

My long term obsessions are filmmaking along with computers/electronics and I hope to have a career in the film industry.
I also have a number of smaller obsessions which change from week to week.

I also hope to be a filmmaker. I have a few script ideas that I'd be happy to collaborate on if you wanted to work on something for fun/practice and/or wanted to try and get an indie film going.
