On reading the answers from others I'm guessing the title question means on passing.
When deceased.

Personally I believe there's nothing as we know it in this 'packaging'

As far as I'm aware, matter doesn't simply disappear.
'We' go on but in a changed form.

Memories in the hearts and minds of those that loved or knew us remain.

Wouldn't it be something to imagine after we've passed we could float around and deliver some overdue karma to those that gave us a hard time?

I think it would amuse me to haunt the bejaysus out of a few people.
Go all poltergeist on their ass.
til the novelty wore off :)

A higher (or lower) plane of existence, eternal and unchanging. The traditional Heaven and Hell. Purgatory is not so much a final destination for the soul as it is a process of being made ready to enter the presence of God.

I'm of the belief that there's something bigger than you or me that exists out there and is responsible for what is happening in this world. That thing is what's waiting for us in the after life.

Seth books made most sense to me when pondering what's beyond the veil. I found them hugely eye opening.

Ed

I don't mean to be a downer here but death is just a heartbeat away from all of us.
We're pathetically fragile creatures that carry around an illusion of having some degree of control over things to comfort ourselves away from this fact.

I believe in God & His Son Jesus Christ. So I also believe what His letter to us "The Holy Bible" has to say about what lies beyond, & so I don't worry to much about it.

We were all created for fellowship with Him & given free will. Thats what makes our belief & faith such a powerful thing if it's there.

I don't believe that God is some big policeman in the sky but rather a loving God that knows whats best for His children because He made us, but gets a lot of blame & anger thrown His way when things don't go OUR way due to our limited understanding & shortsightedness.

I know that everyone believes different things & I respect that so I'm not trying to preach or anything.

I have almost perfect peace (a daily work in progress) with the way I am & wouldn't change it if I could.
& Besides... I've grown kinda fond of all the things I can do that people who aren't on the spectrum can't do.

I was created unique this way for reasons my limited human brain can't understand yet, & that's okay because one day I will.

Until then I'll keep on a truckin as long as I can.

Personally I love the image in the CS Lewis books where one character reaches the equivalent of heaven.

There things are so much brighter, so much colourful, so much more than they are here.

I believe in reincarnation and karma, my beliefs fall under the hinduism umbrella although I am from UK. I would elaborate but I would ramble. There are many interesting videos and texts online from wise hindu sages such as swami vivekananda and paramahansa yogananda.

What do you think lies beyond this word?

Well rather than telling you or anyone else what I think exists beyond this world, I can from my experience of having had a Near Death Experience (or NDE) state that the most befitting descriptions in literature for me, is the Tebetan Book of the Dead if you fancy the longer account, and the Greek form-driven rather than English meaning-driven transliteration of Luke 17:33 ~ 37 (from the Greek texts of the New Testament Bible) if you fancy the shorter account as follows:

33.) Whoever seeks for the life of them to keep about, thus puts an end to it, and whoever puts an end to thus will keep about it.*

*So keep heart centred and avoid amnesic rebirths.

34.) I tell you all, the way of embodiment in this night* becomes as two upon bed [each] one; the one of you taken over to place, and the other of you left to place:

*Night as being material existence and darkness also.

35.) as becomes two >[in the mill house]< grinding to settle upon themselves;* the one of you taken over to place, and the other of you left to place:

*The past life review or judgement.

36.) as becomes two in the midst* of the fields; the one of you taken over to place, and the other of you left to place.

*The Heaven of Heavens or Spiritual plains.

37.) And they all responded saying to Him, "Where; Teacher?" He then said to them, "Where-ever-so the body of life; there in place together the Eagles* will also gather to be.

*The Eagles are the birds of heaven as being analogies for Angles, as are the quintessence of consciousness otherwise known as the spirit of you.

I’m re-reading a book right now called Near Death in the ICU by a doctor who has worked in an intensive care unit for many years. She shares stories from patients who have died and been resuscitated and also stories of her own personal experiences and those of other doctors, nurses, EMTs, etc. Absolutely astonishing stuff. I’ve been fascinated by the paranormal my entire life, and while I do not know what happens after we die, I do believe that consciousness is non-local and that we don’t simply disappear.

I had only just finished reading @Fino's thread 'I'm a A Liar or You Believe In God . . . ?' where you mentioned just having finished reading that book last year.

I had my NDE when I was three, and ever since I have been having stress induced seizures where I get to have more NDE experiences, which are utterly amazing, but oh my whole life the hangovers can be seven shades of shell shockingly brutal. Thank the absolute and the infinite for CBD oil, as it really softens the blows.

I got into metaphysics, philosophy, comparative religion and spiritualism myself ~ in order to research all the out of body experiences I have had and all the other states of being most people have little sense of or sensibility with.

Yes! Ha! I’m re-reading the book. I just got another one called Haunted Hospitals, too.

Do you mean you’ve had OBEs (out of body experiences) or NDEs (near death experiences) or both? Did you die and come back when you were three, which left you with a seizure disorder, and you believe the seizures are causing you to have OBEs? Am I interpreting that correctly? How often do you have OBEs? Would you be comfortable talking about one or two of your experiences?

It seems your sorted for a bit then.

Yes both ~ one NDE and multitudes of OBEs.
Did you die and come back when you were three, which left you with a seizure disorder, and you believe the seizures are causing you to have OBEs?
Well technically speaking as energy beings we do not die, only our embodying vessels do that ~ what with matter being prone to disintegrating and energy reintegrating ~ otherwise bodies would not rot and electricity would not arc from source to ground.

But yes the seizures do on occasion involve me having internalised, interdimensional, otherworldly and Out of Body Experiences, with the OBE's resulting in the most brutal hangovers ~ as being out of body on the higher planes tends to overload the bodies ability to incorporate that quantification and type of experiential data (what with formational being finite, dimensional being infinite and spatial being absolute in scale).
Am I interpreting that correctly?
It would seem so ~ plus the last clinical psychologist I saw was explaining this all to me himself, given this is all heading into accepted science now with Quantum Psychology and enhanced Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging filming death and all that now ~ although I do not know how much of that data is actually being published, given that I am still waiting to see FMRIs of the individual physical-spiritual embodiments from ten years or so back now. There was a big yell that they were going to be shown ~ but it was only a composite all in one image, so later some time I guess.
How often do you have OBEs?
Anything from a few to several times a week, up to several times a day ~ it just depends how much stress I am under for however long and how hot the temperature gets. I lose hours, days, weeks, months of even years just being shot away and ricocheting from seizure to seizure.
Would you be comfortable talking about one or two of your experiences?
It is somewhat difficult to separate any one of them out experientially from that of the others currently, as last month was just jam-packed with them ~ and to call them fragmentary is rather a huge understatement really.

As a general theme though visually things get progressively whiter with either colours enhancing, or colours becoming additional until all goes whiter than white.

Everything can take on the appearance of being either or in turn striated, coloured, woven, pastel-esque , asteriated, radiant and threaded coherences involving the plains of embodiment ~ which merge into infinite Kaleidoscopic geometries and or absolute luminosity when the experiences are orbicular out of body sessions, which seems to be entirely the case these days.

When I was young I used to flake out and find myself either somewhere else on this planet or other planets, either in what appeared to be my body as a male or what definitely was not my body as a female ~ or with different ranges of sense and sensibility.

Now though it is pretty much straight into the light and enjoy it as much as possible, by which I mean I don't immerse myself into experiencing it to an depth at all really ~ what with the hangovers being so brutal. I just enjoy being there rather than doing anything there sort of thing.

I hope this goes at least some of the way to answering your questions @Kalinychta?

I don’t think those would be called OBEs, though. They sound like epileptic seizures to me. I myself have temporal lobe epilepsy, and my focal seizures cause intense sensual and visual distortions, strong deja vu, a sense of my body “pulsating,” the feeling that I have “snapped” into another dimension or reality, and almost like my brain is having an orgasm. Afterward, I feel sleepy and groggy, and when I was a kid I would immediately get a migraine afterward (occasionally as an adult I would get headaches but only when I had two in one day, which was rare). I’ve been on an anticonvulsant medication for about three years now, though, and haven’t had a seizure in all that time. If you’re having seizures several times a day, should you not be on medication? If not, that’s extremely dangerous. You’re going to get brain damage. But anyway, an out-of-body experience is the sense of having left your body (many people report actually looking down at their physical body). Most of the time there is a psychiatric or neurological explanation, such as epilepsy. So I would definitely get on meds as soon as possible if I were you. Allowing seizures to continue puts you at an extremely high risk of eventually having a tonic clonic seizure and dying or sustaining permanent brain damage.

Well I did list a range of experiences that I described as ranging from 'internalised, interdimensional, otherworldly and Out of Body Experiences', so up to a point you were very much correct.
They sound like epileptic seizures to me.
They are Psychogenic Non Epileptic Seizures (or PNES) to be specific:
Psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES) are observable changes in behavior or consciousness that are similar to epileptic seizures but are not associated with electrophysiologic changes. PNES occur in children with underlying psychological distress and are especially frequent in those with epilepsy. Because PNES are heterogeneous, comprehensive treatment tailored to each patient is required to reduce psychosocial stress.

Psychogenic nonepileptic seizures as a manifestation of psychological distress associated with undiagnosed autism spectrum disorder

Perhaps recall me stating that I saw a clinical psychologist which I did not mention was this year, and the topic of medication and contraindications and so fourth was covered due to clinical psychology involving medication as it's therapeutic purview or methodology.
You’re going to get brain damage.
It was assumed at first that I did have brain damage, but the FMRI scan and EEG/brain wave recording were normal ~ which was rather a shock, baffling everybody at first.
But anyway, an out-of-body experience is the sense of having left your body (many people report actually looking down at their physical body).
It also includes sensing the environment as an orb in all directions at the same time, with most people though still actually being embodied in a humanoid form involving a narrow range focal point perspective when they saw their physical version, hence my description above involving them visually as seven versions ~ before a full OBE occurs without a humanoid form, technically speaking.
Most of the time there is a psychiatric or neurological explanation, such as epilepsy.
Or PNES (Psychogenic Non Epileptic Seizures) or NEAD (Non Epileptic Attack Disorder) ~ depending upon who gets diagnosed as such, and there may be other diagnostic terms but they are the ones I know of.
So I would definitely get on meds as soon as possible if I were you. Allowing seizures to continue puts you at an extremely high risk of eventually having a tonic clonic seizure and dying or sustaining permanent brain damage.
Obviously if that is the case for anyone involving actual electrophysiologically derived epileptic seizures ~ you must discuss this with your doctor and whoever as a specialist they refer you too, as regularly as required! And the same applies for the stress induced psychological variants also. Definitely the case there @Kalinychta ~ spot on! :)

Either heaven as in union with God, or hell as in separation from him; details in the Summa Theologica. Water is wet, God is there, heaven exists, hell is hot, "Getting Saved" doesn't work, film at eleven, closing with the National Anthem and signing off.

Never think much about it because nobody can come back and tell me anything. Like what, where, when. So we can only assume and assign meaning to it, or l can just concentrate on being in the moment. And l don't mean to be insensitive to the prior posters. It's only how l view it.

I don't believe in an afterlife. You aren't, you are, then you aren't again, and that's it. You go back to being whatever you were before you were born.

Better make the most of your time while you've got it.
