I forced myself out of bed early, made oatmeal and coffee for breakfast alongside some strawberries and plain Greek yogurt, something so simple does something that lifts my mood.

What did you do today that lifted your mood?

Finally upgraded my Nvidia drivers in Linux Mint 22.0 and 22.1 to version 550.120. As far as I can go presently. This time without incident...:)

Went to a restaurant with my house companion for St. Patrick's Day corned beef and cabbage dinner. There were very few people in the restaurant.
Then stopped on the way home and bought two pints of fresh Florida strawberries and made shortcakes dessert.

I cooked corned beef brisket with cabbage, potatoes, carrots and onions, and then used the leftover vegetables to make British 'bubble and squeak' for the first time. It's really just a big potato pancake with chopped up leftover vegetables in it. I don't why it is called that because it didn't bubble and squeak when I cooked it.

Awaiting re-entry and splashdown in a few minutes of the SpaceX crew. Such fond memories long ago of Apollo, Gemini and Mercury splashdowns shown on live television.

The astronauts just acknowledged they are ready for splashdown sequence. Communications blackout lasting about seven minutes is now happening. Splashdown imminent. Parachutes deployed, they're coming home. What a sight. SPLASHDOWN! :)

This never gets old for me....

Splashdown!.webp

My dog Dingle, who is the smaller of the two and the most erratic (but so very sweet anyway, when she's not going berserk) grabbed something or other today that she wasnt supposed to have.

I went and simply took it from her. No trying to trick her with a treat, I just took it.

All she did was look at me.

It's a milestone for her. Up to now, trying to take something from her would cause her to snap. Or getting too close when she is eating.

But she let me just take the thing. I also tried just going over to her while she was eating and sitting with her... no negative reaction.

It's not perfect though. She'll only let me do it, nobody else. That's not too surprising, she clings to me a lot overall.

One way or another though, it was a very positive interaction that shows how far she's come since we got her.

Watched a DVD I just bought, of Rosanne Cash videos. These got yanked from YouTube and Vevo so I had been missing them.
