What did you dream about recently?

Re: What did you dream last night?

That's not fun :-( Sounds very stressful. I've had violent dreams with people running after me or beating me up. But was only "killed" once in a dream that I remember. Stabbed on a bus. Many times I dream about my favorite brother...that we are together. When I wake up & realize he's still dead I get very shocked & sad. Sometimes I'll jump up only to realize it was a dream...

I've had a bunch of these dreams! I've been shot, strangled, drowned & stabbed to death in dreams & I've died in them-only to wake up in amazement wondering how I came back to life! THese dreams are usually very real & whatever is happening (getting punched out, shot etc. ) is very painful & terrifying. Sometimes, I'm just kind of sadly resigned to my 'fate'. Last night I dreamt I was at the beach with my husband. Since, here in QC, there are no tropical beaches, the dream did not take place here. I have no idea where we were. Even in the dream itself, I remember looking around & wondering where the heck I was. It was so beautiful that not knowing where I was did not bother me: it was more of a passing curiosity. The sand was warm & white & very fine (eliminates Cape Cod, Myrtle Beach & Old Orchard Beach plus all the dark or beige sand beaches...) & there were many others also on the beach, but they were far away. I was wearing my standard no frills black bikini & I was up to my waist in turquoise water looking into it, kind of mesmerized by the light glinting off of the waves. It was an extremely realistic dream: so much so that when I woke up in my room, I thought to myself, "HEY!!! This resort's rooms look so much like our bedroom!" (DUUUUuuuuhhh... so much for all my Aspie intelligence!)

Re: What did you dream last night?

Another dream in which I saw people from my past.

Started off in some dark realm with many dragons trying to kill each other and me. Maybe there were friendly and evil dragons, I can't remember much of it. I think I died. But if I die and I'm not anxious then I don't wake up and just come back to life or go third person mode.
Later on I was in a wheel chair for some reason. IIRC I went exploring a shopping centre with a child hood best friend. That sounds boring but everything is so magical in my dreams, it was fun.
Just before I woke up I was becoming stressed at having to use the wheel chair though.

I wish I could remember more but I became distracted by something. The strange thing is that sometimes I'll have flash backs of dreams I had years ago, but only partial memories. Even though at the time I didn't make an effort to remember them.

It's interesting to identify what triggered certain aspects of my dreams. The dragons had some similarities to those in the eragon series - I've read them all. The wheelchair was from a drivers education course I had to do last night, during which they discussed such.

My dreams seem totally of my desires, my fears and with aspects of anything that has happened recently.

Re: What did you dream last night?

I keep having hot and steamy dreams (yay?), or ones where I'm cheating on my diet. Those make me wake up in a cold sweat while screaming. Nope, still good!

SNAKE BITES ME
Dreamt that I was standing outside of someone's house with some other people when we notice there were snakes behind an open door in the basement. We all just stood there and looked to see how many snakes were there. We seen 2 snakes and someone picked both of them up. Someone else brought one over to me so I can feel the skin. But, it bit me on the finger and I was trying to find out if it was poisonous. But I finally found out it wasn't. Someone told me I should go to the doctor anyhow. I went home and washed the bite wound out really good and then the dream ended.

I'm always having snake dreams and I see a certain amount of symbolism in this dream as well since I see some people as real snakes in the grass that can't be trusted. I think this one is worth putting in my dream diaries since I have dealt with people like this before and may do so again.

Kind of a strange one, last night I dreamt about being trained by a Judo master. He said the training would take weeks and be very difficult, so I closed the door, locked it and said "let's get started then". Kinda funny 'cause I've never really taken an interest in martial arts other than admiring those who are really good at it. Then again, I am a pacifist and Judo is more about defense, so maybe it says something about me that I dreamed of a Judo master specifically and not something else like Karate or Kung Fu.

I had a dream where I was exploring narrow corridors of what seemed like a stoney old ruined castle, but when I looked outside I could see the structure was actually a lot more like something from Halo, and it was surrounded by water. Eventually I got out of the building and was casually wading through 4ft deep flood water on a busy street but the fact it was flooded was no big deal and everybody was just getting on with their lives as if they hadn't noticed or didn't care and I didn't care either. Then I walked into a victorian-looking town square with a lot of cake stalls, where lots of familiar faces were standing eating cake. None of this has any kind of meaning or significance to me. It was just complete nonsense.

ROCKET LAUNCH
1/15/2014 @ 5:13: Dreamt that I was in a building with others watching a huge rocket being launched. It lifted off the launch pad a little and turned. The rocket looked something like an Atlas rocket but much bigger. After the rocket turned a little, then it exploded sending debris everywhere. The debris was thrown so far that some of it hit the protective windows in the building. I was wondering what was aboard this rocket.

Comment: Intense, after dark launch and a bit frightening.

I dreamt the kittens died, I know why I dreamt it too, it's because last night the kittens were playing behind / possibly under my husband's recliner and because he is not careful (he can be quite clumsy) he just de-clined (is that the right word/term?) the chair and there was a massive meow, I was worried sick all night that one of them had internal injuries but they both seem okay...so yeah explains my dream. I remember it had alot of blue lockers in the dream as well but I can't remember what that was all about, I think it was at a school or something.

Having anything happen to pets is the absolute worst kind of dream - I swear I have it every single night.

Had a weird one yesterday where I was sharing a bed with a guy and a girl I knew from school years ago - though nothing sexual haha! Had the feeling of being quite young in the dream so it was definitely a sleepover/hanging out context rather than anything dodgy. Oh, and that we were in the Hunger Games..yeah. Too much time on Tumblr maybe?

2 DREAMS ON SAME DATE
MY PISTOL
2/13/2014: Dreamt that I heard something in the house which caused me to get out my pistol and lay it on the table next to my bed. I laid there for a few seconds then got up having my pistol ready to shoot while walking into the kitchen. I looked around good to make sure there was no entry. When I felt sure, then I came back to bed and put my pistol back in the drawer.

EXCAVATOR NUDGE
2/13/2014: Dreamt just before I woke, that I was sound asleep which must have been on a warm night since I didn’t have a top on and just a sheet covering me with my back exposed. Then I saw a big red excavator nudging me in the back with the bottom of the bucket just below the links. The operator had to nudge me several times with the bucket before I woke up.

Comment: The only thing I can think of triggering this dream is I read this morning around 7am where an excavation company will become coming to town replacing all of those antiquated gas lines. And there is one running behind our houses under the alley where there was a gas leak near my house some months again. But we’ve had several pretty intense earthquakes around here in the past 20 or 30 years too. So I see this nudging me as apparently making me aware of a job that can be dangerous that is about to take place.

About one of my friends who inexplicably stopped talking to me a while ago. I dreamt that he was at my uni again (after graduating last year) and left lots of weird clues, like a scavenger hunt kind of thing, to lead me to where he was. Very strange!

I've been having really weird and vivid dreams recently. Last night I dreamed that Jordan (from BlimeyCow on YouTube) asked me out in the front yard of my old house in MN.

Well, mine was something like a game which I'm trying to explain the cold and raw facts of life in a more naive way [in a way that always makes you smile] to a little girl. I think it also had some awesome as action scenes with explosions or flying trousers or something... Yeah!
There was a bad and good ending and I think the bad ending featured nearly every single jumpscare I've seen in my life. Thanks for that, subconscious.
>:3
And I also noticed a lot of random pencils lying around somewhere in the scene. Especially those tan coloured ones with the eraser attached to them. I think my subconscious is trying to send me a message with subliminal pencils. Maybe it's trying to say that my dad is actually a pencil. Ah, it was pretty cool!

Dreamt that I was laying in bed watching TV hugging my favorite toy when suddenly a large light brown dog with fairly long and curly hair in someplace appeared in my bedroom. The dog started wagging his tale and came over jumping up on my bed getting between me and the wall. He started licking on my face and I started petting him for a while than coaxed him down to get him away from my face and interfering with the enjoyment of hugging my favorite toy. Then I partly sat up and patted the end of the bed signaling him that he was welcome to get up on the end of my bed and lay there. So that is were he jumped up at and laid down. Then the dream ended.
Comment: This dream seems to be one of those "Business as usual dream" and was probably triggered by reading the messages in the thread about Children and Animals.

I dreamt that when I jumped, while falling down, I'd pause in mid air briefly and that in this state I could spin around in the air a bit like a top a bit - like my body was rigid and swept the surface of an inverted cone with the cone's tip at the ground near my feet and it's cap at my head, and which got progressive wider at the top as I spun until I'd crash. Each time I did it I'd always end up crashing either into the ground or objects in the vicinity, I was clumsy like that and I'd hurt but I didn't really injure myself beyond maybe bruises. People in the dream were scared of this ability when they saw it because it was supernatural and shouldn't be possible; some people thought I was possessed by the devil - I don't recall if I thought so too or not, but was also really scared of the ability because I knew it shouldn't be able to happen, and it was like I was possessed while it was happening I was somehow less conscious. I kept doing it though, showing people, practising and trying to get more control (though I didn't get noticeable better) and trying to figure out how it was happening. All the while I was really bothered and creeped out by it, really scared in fact, and when I woke up my heart was beating quickly and I still felt that sensation of dread. It was a really strange dream.

I had the oddest dream last night; one I've never had before, ever!

I dreamed that I was me, as I am, but for some reason I was told I now had to take care of this young, teenage girl. I don't know why, but she had lost her parents, and for whatever reason, I had become her guardian.

It was awkward though, as she was about 13, and was keen on going out, partying, and doing typical NT teenage things, so I wasn't able to relate with her much at all. She also didn't have much respect for authority, and would have no problem with lying to get her way. It seemed like a terrible combination. I had no authority over her, and simply felt like someone had made a terrible mistake in thinking this set up was a good idea.

Weird...I had never seen, or met the girl before, but she was so vivid, and somehow I felt I had known her for years.

What amuses me about dreams is when I can connect them to some kind of recent stimulus...like something I read or simply saw on television within the last few days. Then I have a little chuckle about them...like when I with my posse doing some kind of marketing visits...where the president tagged along for some reason....except I was the boss. :D

Yeah, I know what you mean. I once tried an experiment, for fun, by exposing myself to a certain media before I sleep, in the hopes of it incorporating with my dreams. It took a few tries, but it worked, and somehow I knew I was dreaming, so I was able to control my dream to a degree. I highly recommend trying it at least once :)

Another interesting thing about dreams to me involve hypnopompic hallucinations. That transitional state you may be in between REM sleep and approaching consciousness. Where the outside world can influence the inside of your mind. Just waking up in the morning can be pretty weird.

One of mine involved dreaming of being chased by vicious dogs. The thing was though, my cousin's two adorable doggies were barking right outside the bedroom door. Pretty scary and vivid dream until I completely woke up. Then I thought it was rather funny.
