It turns out you can indeed use your controller over USB! Try plugging it in to your Mac with the cable you use to charge it and see if that helps!

It can be all very frustrating @grommet. I was fixing some issues with our internet the other day and it eventually overwhelmed me. So I know how upsetting it can be when you just want to relax and enjoy your technology rather than trouble shooting it.
I'm sure you will figure it out. I'm not sure but it may be possible to use your controller via a USB cable. I will see if I can find anything out about this. If it will work over USB you should be able to use your wireless headphones and not have any issues with them interrupting the connection to your controller.
I will do this now.It turns out you can indeed use your controller over USB! Try plugging it in to your Mac with the cable you use to charge it and see if that helps! View attachment 131459

Good luck! I hope it works! If not then maybe try to take a break from it for a while and pick it up again tomorrowI will do this now.
Do you have a USB cable? If it works while wired, that would be a clue and a workaround.
Well done @grommet I'm super glad we've managed to find a solution at the very least! If you are happy to use your controller via USB then that should be fine If you want to game from farther away, like maybe you connect your Mac to a TV you can get longer USB cables, you would need to invest in a good quality one but it's doableWorking perfect now, no problems. Do you think the problem is over? I want to game so much. I have been learning slowly for two years. I did not know how. I watched videos and I bought this controller but the buttons did not make sense so I have had to learn a lot and now I think I am ready. I bought Lies of P, it is very expensive.
If I must play connected I will do that. I wonder if I can get a longer cable of the type that is connecting it now.
I think you fixed everything

Like Bluetooth, our brains only have a certain amount of bandwidth too
I've had a look. The issue is that it's hard to know how good a cable will perform until you try it. Manufacturers make big claims, however I did find one that looks good at least and you can always return it if it's unreliable. Can you please tell me a quality Long Micro USB to USB-A cable to get on Amazon. They have many but I want something really good, flexible and strong. I will pay more for a good one. I want to game.
Oh dear That's a shame. What kind of MacBook do you have?Sorry. The problem is back. I had it connected with a cable. I even turned off Bluetooth and the joystick problem is back. Cable did not solve it.
MacBook Pro M3.Oh dear That's a shame. What kind of MacBook do you have?
I do. I installed it yesterday or the day before but I bought Lies of P on the App Store because it was on sale for $41.99. I am also playing Resident Evil 4. RE played fine. This joystick problem suddenly came up. I do not want to give up on gaming but I feel like there is no further solution. I will try thinking about it again tomorrow. Thank youDo you have Steam installed on your MacBook?
I'm wondering if that might be a factor. Maybe there's some issue with Apple Silicone Macs. I did read something on Reddit where someone was having an issue with their M1 Mac. They said they'd fixed it, but then didn't explain how they did it, much to other people's disappointmentMacBook Pro M3.
Ah ok! That might be it! I read that you may have to turn off "Steam Controller Input" or something like that! I will check and see what the advice is!I do. Ok, it's called "Steam Input For Controllers". I found a guide that takes you through how to do it (it's for a specific game but it should be the same for others). You could also try completely closing Steam if you are running a none Steam game as apparently having Steam running can cause the issue you are having.
Anyway, check this out and give it a try and see if it works...

Probably best to take a break from it though and come back to it fresh tomorrow. You'll get it figured out I'm sure!
