What is your dream job?

Not allowed?!? I don't understand. Since you aren't god & you can't act destroy the world any ways, why not finish your thought? Since you know your hedonistic fantasy will likely never come true (unless you become a successful porn actor & even there, that is fake.) why dwell on that either. You can dream a better, more accessible dream for yourself.

I would love to be either a photographer or work in forensics/criminal psychology. It would also be cool to have my own store with antiques and unique home decor.

If we can pick something from another time period, I would be a queen in medieval Europe so I can have a castle. :)

I've always had this fascination with motorcycle roadracing. The premier class of such racing is MotoGP. Last summer I attended my first GP race at Indy. It was loads of fun
but Indy is flat as hell. The highlight of the race was being in the grandstands at the end of the straightaway. The starting line was there and it was an awesome sight watching the best riders in the world launching those bikes all at once........................................BUT the most incredible sight (and sounds) was watching them complete the first lap. By the time they got to the end of the straight they were doing over 200mph!!!!!!!!! There were 26 riders all entering the first turn doing those speeds!! I recall standing up, yelling at the top of my lungs "Oh My God! Somebodys gonna friggin' die!" Just incredible...................and not one crash. DAMN!
Now just a couple months ago, I attended a MotoGP race at Mazda Raceway in Laguna Seca.............home of the famed Corkscrew. What an experience!
Motorcycle roadracing is the reason I will NEVER understand Nascar. Round and round and round, on 4 wheels, in a rollcage. BORING!!!!!!!!! Motorcycle roadracing is a couple dozen riders on TWO wheels, uphill; downhill; left turns; right turns; elbow to elbow, all at insane speeds. THAT is racing.

Indeed! Roadracing motorcycles would be my dream job; but at 58 y/o I'm resigned to just being a spectator. :-)

America needs to get its balls back! - Plungerhead.

What does this mean?

We, as a country, have become soft and weak. We take too much crap from the rest of the world. That's all I'm going to say about it in THIS thread because I don't want it to become political. This isn't the place for it.

Ideally writer, otherwise English Teacher or Art Museum Curator, or curator for a regular museum or natural history museum.

I thought of another dream job:

Salesperson selling sneakers and/or basketball shorts.

Doing what I love, baby!

I would love to be a medical coder. Just put me somewhere where I can be alone, and I'll have medical codes on all of the diagnoses and treatments and surgeries in no time.

Me, too! I constantly play "footage" over and over again in my head, anyway, so I think I would be a natural at film editing. As I writer, I often assemble bits and pieces from my own experience into a fictional story. And I'm quite fond of redundant, sometimes, mundane tasks.
I think a cool job to have would be a movie editor (someone who assembles a finished movie from raw footage). I've wanted to get into filmmaking somehow for a long time, but I'm not sure that actually being a director would be the best job for me. Sometimes, an editor can really be a sort of trusted "right hand man" for a filmmaker. Also, some filmmakers, like John Sayles, have said that they find the editing of a movie to be the fun part and the actual shooting to be kind of a chore.

I do worry a little bit that I'd never be able to watch a movie just for enjoyment ever again. Also, being an editor on a really bad movie might not be good for my mental health since editing a movie can involve sifting through hundreds of hours of footage, especially if the director is one of those who likes to shoot lots of takes.

Hmmm, Art teacher (small, private affair, not in a classroom) or Professor of Romantic Liturature. I'm giving private art lessons for the first time this fall, and I love it.

professional enduro rider, riding two stroke motorbikes around the woods of romania and trying not to get eaten by bears. Or a long distance courier, so all I have to do is drive packages to places. And in another life, a pro long distance runner, I used to do a lot of ten k's in under 40 minutes, but then I became older, And fatter. So really that means I couldn't do my first dream job because the bear would almost certainly catch me

my dream job would be doing something for Amtrak. I live near an Amtrak station so I get to see a lot of trains which makes me happy.

Not sure what i would be able to do for them but workign for them would be awesome.

My dream job would have to do with helping or studying animals. Or maybe a career in criminal psychology.

A totally unrealistic dream job would be getting paid to eat ice cream and then give reviews of it. But I'd only want to try chocolate-based ice creams.

i love your avatar :0 so cute. kitty's are awesome.

i love your ice cream job idea. i'd definitley apply for that job :)

there's nothing wrong with playing video games all day if it entertains you! Some people like bowling, some like going to the pub and collapsing in a drunken heap in a bush, some like jumping out of planes and some prefer haring around various enviroments on their TV whilst in the comfort of their own home. Doesn't hurt anyone, and video games are one of the biggest entertainment businesses around!

you see how the effects in the latest movies are done, it astounds me too when you couple it with the music, say the mad hatter in tim burtons alice in wonderland, all the cgi effects of the cards guards/ talking rabbit/ bulbously headed red queen, it's amazing to look at when you think how many hours must have gone into that

you really wouldn't want to, I recall a female porn star that caught [ excuse my spelling] '' Gonoreah'' seceral times over and was in so much pain from all the sex ''porn films are rarely one take''. Sge posted a video online begging young girls to stay away, money just isnt worth it
