To the lady from Wisconsin. I must compliment you on your pussycat. It's very cute. And your dog too. Adorable.

This cat
intrigues me why any container of any substance I thought only paper, card(board),wood, cotton, wool, linen, stone were sacred to cats in order of holiness but apparently has reverence for all substancesView attachment 77895

Read about that question on YouTube some time ago. Where they cited that cats naturally prefer sleeping in most any situation or place that has three to four "sides". A defense mechanism of sorts for felines who probably sleep better whether they are actually protected or not.

Reminds me of how my cat used to always jump up onto my bed and sleep at my feet between both legs. Giving her a three-sided sense of protection. Until I'd roll over...lol.

Stands to reason, no different than dogs that circle an area where they intend to defecate. Where they are most vulnerable and they instinctively know it.

Yes but a large percentage of cats avoid the unlisted substances I understand the psychology but just not this cat

I see your point. Agreed, I suspect that can be something relative to individual cats rather than the entire species. Such a tight fit too....you'd think most cats would not prefer it.

Though it does amuse me how so many cats seem to be attracted to cardboard boxes...which they may regret in seconds or minutes...lol. But I suppose some end up sleeping in them as well.

I forgot one of the holy substances skin ponders

The cat I had was trained to come to me and get inside the house when I'd whistle to her.

Maybe I should have named her "Walter". Or even "Fido". :p

It is windy outside, so the dogs are barking at every little sound that they hear. I suppose they are protecting us from unknown threats.

Potato Cat prefers bags to boxes. He never sits in them, just on them. He loves to hear them crinkle.
My house is a combo of invalid chic and nervous\territorial cat cardboard in different shapes on varied surfaces plus piles of invalid order!
I've never caught Gizmo in a box recently to reveal his Jekyll \hyde combination
This is 3 years ago Gizmo in the background Socks in foreground died last June :'(

Sounds like my Yorkies. Though once they'd bark they'd also run for cover!

Chihuahuas are a little different. They do not seem to know that they are little. I have to protect them from themselves because they will attack things that can hurt them, like cats.

I had one Yorkie that took after a Labrador Retriever from the neighbor next door. Luckily while my Yorkie was snarling, the Lab just gently picked her up off the ground in his mouth for a spell.

Luckily neither got hurt.

Terriers- terrified of sounds natural or manmade yet fearless of other dogs. Go figure.
