A lesser-known B-side:

The Decemberists
"After the Bombs"

Riccardo Muti and the New Philharmonia orchestra...still (by far) my favorite recording of Mendelssohn's 3rd symphony--which happens to be one of my favorite pieces EVER.

Joanna Newsom and I...well, just ask me. You probably already know. What I would not give to see her in concert again. Ys may be the most depressing record of the last decade, but there is something about it that is...just comforting.

Forgive my mawkishness. Here is my favorite song of hers.

I just found myself humming the opening bassoon and English horn lines, so I thought...Hey, I have not listened to this in a while. Why not? (Does that happen to anyone else?)

Valery Gergiev and the Kirov Ballet doing Stravinsky's Le Sacre du printemps which, unfortunately, is not on youtube. (Look it up, though; it is an amazing recording.)

I caught a little of their show at Bonnaroo last month. Quite charming.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
"Up From Below"
