Thank you very much for the education I am receiving. I had neglected to mention, previously, that my favorite eras for most music, were, also, the 70's and 80's. Although, I am a Jazz fanatic, and, my favorite Jazz is of the late 50's and throughout the 60's. My favorite Jazz artist of all time (although, I have a few favorites) is John Coltrane. I do like some of the Jazz that came out of the 70's, and, a few artists that have come onto the scene, sporadically, throughout the last few decades, but, I think the late 50's and 60's produced the most, phenomenal Jazz sounds and sub-genres. I've gone off track.
I wasn't aware that Bill Paxton passed away. That is very sad. He was indeed, a wonderful actor, and seemed like such a good person. Your post compelled me to read a bit further, about him. I imagine his family must miss him, terribly.
In regard to the Residents, I have seen that style, or a similar photo of one of the Residents, dressed in that costume, I believe. I don't think I had ever been aware of their music, however. That photograph seems so familiar, for some reason. I recognize the location. It appears to be taken in San Francisco, CA, if I am not mistaken. Thank you for sharing so much interesting history, by the way.
I like the additional DEVO song. Thank you for posting it. I am the same, in that, I do not care for the songs, 'Whip it' or 'Working in a Coalmine'. I am finding their earlier music, quite appealing. Ah, and thank you for 'letting me be your friend, since I like Blockhead'. : ))
Something about 'Blockhead' brought X to mind, but, they aren't entirely alike, or even close, as you may find...
The rhythm of the guitar in both, 'Gut Feeling' and this song, by the Cure, are reminiscent of one another, I think...
Just an aside - I hadn't acquired a taste for the Cure, until recently, when I inadvertently, clicked on this song while searching for something else...
