What was the last movie you watched?

My daughter (age 10) and I watched Moonrise Kingdom (on TV); I don't think it really worked. Parts of it were good. Liked the music (Britten) and it looked interesting. The kids (characters) were a bit messed up, but not my kind of messed up. Still, I was able to sit through it.

People seem to have mixed reactions to it. I thought the feeling-up scene was adorable, but someone else told me she "felt like a pedo"...which I guess I can also understand.

Lockout which was really stupid, in the trailer it looked like some of it might be animated, and the animation looked cool. But in the movie the animation was just where they couldn't afford to build, and it wasn't supposed to look animated but it did.

Also 21 Jump street, The only part I liked was how the role reversals on the issue of popularity. But overall it was just too much absurdity, there were some continuity issues I think from scenes being deleted. But there was a trailer for a movie I want to see called Saftey Not Guarenteed, looks like a quirky romance where a guy puts an ad in the classifieds looking for someone to go back in time with him.

Les Mis, WOW! Just bloody WOW! I can't believe how good it was and how moving all the actors portrtails were.

Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seifried and Anne Hathaway were just beyond words. If you don't watch this film or you are not moved by it, then you are dead inside haha.

'Outback'

An animated film about an albino koala, of all things ; ]

PS: Americans really should not try to do the Aussie accent; they come across as something between New Zealand and South African!

Last episode of Sherlock series 2. I know it's a television show, but at 1.5 hours long it sure felt like a movie!

Gomendosi, I'm with you there! Naturally, I have a problem with fake Southern accents. I couldn't even get through the first season of The Walking Dead, it bothered me so much!

Have you seen Django Unchained yet? There's a part where Quentin Tarantino plays an Aussie, probably with a rather dubious accent (in his defense, I read somewhere that he only played that part himself in order to fill in for another actor who had to drop out of the movie at the last minute).

'Ultramarines' A Warhammer 40000 Movie

Animated, and voiced by some great people, definitely worth the watch ; ]

'Django Unchained' is on my list of wanna see movies.
I imagine the lousy accent would fit in with the genre he filmed it in, it's supposed to be like a spaghetti western if I remember rightly.
I will let you know of my opinion on how well he did when I watch it this week ; ]

I watched Splinter and Happy Endings

Fun "fact" about this movie; pretty much everyone into the tabletopgame hates that movie. I've seen it and didn't think it was that much of an accurate description of the 40.000-universe either actually. But I guess for anyone into anything sci-fi it's perfectly fine, just not for the (presumable) target demographic.

It is voiced by great people though.

The man with the x-ray eyes

Someone on AC mentioned it in the shoutbox and I was lurking a bit. Seemed someone put the entire movie on youtube

Thor - one of the few movies I'd watch over and over again.

I like to read Norse mythology (and haven't read the old comics the movies are based on), so the differences between the film and the "real" story stood out to me, but still it's a good show and really funny.

Fantastic Mr. Fox. I hated it.

Wes Anderson is of a class I refer to as Ego Directors: so attached to their own “unique styles” that they are incapable of making anything with actual substance and it winds up being just a bunch of self-indulgent crap (see also: Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Tim Burton, Quentin Tarantino). It was all Wes Anderson and no Roald Dahl. Alexandre Desplat’s scores sounded pretty much identical to his score for Moonrise Kingdom—and I HATE CHILDREN’S CHOIRS.

No, wyv; let us know what you REALLY think!

even bottle rocket? it was so funny. Although Owen Wilson really sells it (check him out in Minus Man)

I just went to see Beautiful Creatures. It was good. But it wasn't great. The costumes and the cinematography was fantastic the plot for cute but it lacked substance and if I am gonna watch a movie about fantasy which I like I want substance and it was lacking but the colors were fantastic.

Last movie I watched was "The Prophecy II" (I actually like The Prophecy-movies even though no body else seem to do so).
Otherwise I've been watching a lot of Supernatural (which I just started watching, haven't really had the time before) and some Doctor Who (re-watch.... again),
but that isn't any movies though.
