What was the last movie you watched?

Let the Right One In (2008) - IMDb

Let the Right One In

Thing is feels a bit like blasphemy to say but I liked the american version better.

While I prefer the original for its slightly gentler, less on-the-nose tone (which I think adds to the creepiness), it is easy to forget that the American remake is a pretty decent film in its own right.

I watched Trollhunter today, a very silly Norwegian mockumentary/horror flick. It was fun.

Good. But not as good as Baraka.

I watched this sci-fi/horror movie called Beyond the Black Rainbow last night. It was a bit too long and had some kind of boring stretches, but overall it was weird and interesting.

been watching a lot of korean movies on netflix lately. one good one i saw was 'The Thieves' that was great.

"Life as a House"

starts slow & if you can get past all the Hollywood stereotyping...the movie changes gears and picks up into a delightful heart felt film.

The collector - Really enjoyed it, although I did get a bit miffed with some of the obvious plot holes and it was far too blatant who the collector was, other then that great movie.

The other day I broke out Kiki's Delivery Service and gave it another view after several years. DAMN. Never overlook a film, just because it is geared toward children, and animated. Some of the finest cinema I have seen.

Stoker. I'd give it a pretty solid 3 stars out of 4. (And no, the name doesn't have anything to do with Bram Stoker and it's not a vampire movie in case you were wondering.)

Watched No this evening. I had my doubts when it started, the way it was filmed on video and all, but it turned out to be terrific. Period pieces are so hard to pull off, so it is nice to see it done so well.

Cactus Flower. It was made so long ago that Goldie Hawn looked like a cross between a baby bird and a dandelion; Walter Matthau was hardly even wrinkled. Ingrid Bergman didn't seem like herself to me until she put on the pretty clothes and didn't have to act like the plain/homely old maid nurse. 1969 production.
