Why I can’t just work and attend college

Personality does count. You seem to be stuck in a depressed narrow viewpoint. Being negative turns people off time. Nobody want to be around somebody who sucks all the joy out of the room as soon as they step in. No matter what age, financial circumstances etc etc.

I clearly said that later in life the chance of being used by a woman for things like resources is significantly higher as when you are younger. I have statistics and biology to back this up. And don't pull the "you are depressed" card on me, i swear to god. But you know what, i wish you much success with this wisdom of yours, i hope to see you put it into practice and show us all how the fruits of this, i bet the girls are already lining up to be with a man with as much personality as you, and when you have succeeded you may teach me with all your wisdoms.

I would have thought the opposite. As woman's value in society tends to decrease as they get older. If you're gonna get used by somebody, it's young attractive woman with sex appeal. In fact the older a woman is, I would think the more unlikely the relationship is to be transactional. Those must be some interesting statistics.

Right. I would like to see more of what that is about. Lessee, If the choice was a young woman with no life experience, an airhead who thinks life revolves around her, or an independent older woman who has had life experiences, I choose the latter every time. I get it that some men are frightened of strong, secure, women. I find those younger women @phantom describes as supremely boring.

Not solely because he works hard but it's a combination of things. And what you should do depends on what kind of woman you hope to attract. In my experience women like men who take care of themselves and doesn't seem needy, showing that you are insecure or needy rarely helps. It's a combination of things, treating people well and being upstanding doesn't hurt. Having character and moral isn't a bad thing. Dealing with problems without complaining too much, that's good. Showing that you are able to care about something else than yourself, that's good. Maybe unless people are 18, at that age anything goes.

I think we all have seen those pairings of a grown immature man-child with some pretty ditz who has a mind where an original thought would die of loneliness. Me-too consumers, without passports, who think exotic travel is going to Hawaii. Frightened by anything that does not conform to a white bread way of living. It is sad to see their lack of a life.

My mother was always shaming me for being overweight and pushing me to exercise because she thought that’s why I didn’t have a relationship. But one time in the college lounge, I saw an obese guy with a skinny girlfriend. It made me upset because my mother was wrong.
