Would aspies be interested in a companion doll?

I've never seen this thread before today. I guess mainly because it's old.

I could see myself finding value in a companion robot. Like a C3PO, a reprogrammed IG-11 or IG-88 to be kind, etc that I could talk with and have accompany me places.

Would I want a sex doll? To each their own in my opinion, but for me...absolutely not. Something like that would remind me too much of a cadaver and as such, the thought is beyond creepy and disgusting; almost indescribably so.

Those silicone dolls are very expensive and extremely heavy. Plus, it's a line most people wouldn't want to cross - due to the stigma that is attached to such an item.

There's plenty of sexual devices out there which service a purpose. F lights etc. Perhaps that is how some people end up on the journey towards getting a full sized doll.

As @Magna said - dolls can be rather creepy. Especially if they're very realistic, but just sit there - staring into the void etc.

At the end of the day, it is what it is. It could be bought and used as any other sexual aid, but can people foot the bill of many thousands of dollars? Plus, would it be a purchase you the ended up regretting? That is a heck of a lot of money. But at the end of the day - it's up to the individual. A bit like how I spend thousands on building a gaming PC - so many people have reacted negatively to that, but I enjoy it.

Asides from the big money cost of these dolls, 'do you even lift bro?' We're talking 50-60kg.

Then, if you live with other people, do you have storage space etc? Is this something you're just going to use when everyone is out of the house etc. etc. Hiding it away like your dirty secret.

Personally I can see how people would use it just as a device. But I can also see how people who don't socialise much at all might end up regularly roleplaying with a doll, and not just in a sexual way.

I seem to recall a Louis Theroux documentary on sex dolls, it was quite interesting.

I would totally get a sex doll. It's been nearly impossible for me to navigate this level of relationships, so a doll seems like a great way to fulfill my physical needs without major issues. Knowing me and my need for realism and texture-friendliness, I'd go with an expensive model, but I would TOTALLY get one if I could! Even just to experiment with before meeting up with a real person would be so helpful!
