Your favorite computer games

Sadly, I can still remember my mother bought a computer and the whole family was amazed...
You couldn't stop us playing this one particular game and I still think about it occasionally.

'Super ROBIN HOOD' for the Amstrad CPC 464

I don't really get into NEW computer games...There are a couple older ones that I used to be totally obsessed with, but newer computers don't support the software. :(

I really loved Pharaoh, an Egyptian civilization building game. Also American McGee's Alice. I know they released it for PS3 fairly recently, but it's just not the same. Zoo Tycoon is also pretty fun.

I don't want to come across as blunt, but... I think, the PS3 version you're talking about is the sequel to American McGee's Alice, called Alice: Madness returns.

No wonder it's not the same ;)

I used to play Rollercoaster Tycoon a lot when I visited my real dad when I was a little girl. I don't have it now, but I'd probably get addicted to it again if I did! My favorite PC game at the moment is The Secret World. I first heard about it a few years ago when it was in production, but when it came out a couple months ago, I was sad that I couldn't get it because there was a monthly subscription, and I barely get paid enough to pay my rent! A few days ago it went Free to play, so I'm incredibly happy about that! Now, to save up for a decent graphics card and/or computer to run the damn thing... D: I NEED TO PLAY THAT GAME!!!!

I didn't mean "not the same" in the sense that it's not the same game, just that the experience is different on the PS3 as opposed to the computer. I don't like change when it comes to my interests, lol.

Snood, a classic from my childhood. I rediscovered it upon becoming nostalgic and now I play it every day, multiple times a day. It's extremely addictive.

Duke Nukem 3D, that's just one of many. There's a mod for the game being developed that uses OpenGL 3D rendering and character models and suffice to say I'm hooked. I also used to play Unreal Tournament a lot, from what I hear it's still popular and there are still servers hosting multiplayer matches for that game.

I'm planning on trying out some of the newer titles once I get my new video card and some money to burn. I thought about giving WoW a shot, but I might get overly obsessed with it and that wouldn't be good for my sanity :D PC gaming is where it's at though - better visuals for one and the titles often get stripped down on console systems which is why I gave that up a while back.

Gmod, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.(You can never feel better while alone with this game) , and pretty much every RTS and TBS game on the PC. Civ 5 is probably my top favorite strategy though, there's just so much strategy involved that it's just so fun.

I have played both borderlands and enjoyed them very much. The sniper dude was awesome because I could very satisfyingly blow off people's heads. And I could play with my husband.

I met my husband on World of Warcraft thou we have a bit of a love hate boredom relationship going on with it atm.

Personally I LOVE the old games. When I was a kid we used to have the original pac man for amega 500 ... the one that you could win because it just got harder and harder and harder. I loved that game. I wish I could play it now. I loved most of the games for Amega to be honest. We had a lot of good ones. They don't make them like that any more. My silly parents however threw out the amega. It still worked and everything.

Elite, as on the BBC Micro, then the zx spectrum one :)

And, in that vein, The Hobbit (Zx spectrum) and Star Trek (on, what else, the zx spectrum!!) 48k of course, which I still own!

Not retro enough for you? I still have my Atari 2600, and all the games. Best is Combat, followed very closely by The Empire Strikes Back!!

8 bit computing is too modern! :)

Backgammon, Heroes Might and Magic III, King's Bounty and Forge of Empires ATM. Sometimes I'm playing some of the Big Fish detective games.
Strategy, logic and puzzle games are my favorite.

When I was very small, I used to like playing some classic games on our old Zenith "portable" DOS-based computer, like PacMan and Asteroids; and then, for the longest time, I abandoned the concept of playing computer games. But lately I've been playing Dragon Age II on my Mac, and it's pretty satisfying--I'm thinking about trying some more games; I think I could get into it.

I play a variety of different PC games, but the games that I have been playing recently are:
Minecraft
Team Fortress 2
TERA Online
Warframe
Saints Row: The Third

But I have to say that my favorite game, that I am addicted to is Feed The Beast MOD-Pack for Minecraft.

And I do agree with what Jonathan said a while back about the graphics and gameplay being superior to a console than any gaming machine.

PC gaming has to be the best overall experience, but in order to achieve that experience, you have got to put a bit of money into the hardware first.
