I used to not mind over the top violence, like Quentin Tarantino movies. In fact i was a big fan of them, also Takashi Miike. But nowadays i dont watch a lot of them.

I used to like Ichi the Killer, but I'm sure I'd have a different view seeing it now. Then again, my connection with that was never so personal. I was more into Hostel, Hostel II, and The Devil's Rejects. Those I might still appreciate, though I wouldn't watch them like I used to.

I remember watching Ichi the killer! It was an experience to be sure, Imprint was another movie that was seriously disturbing.

I did not like the Hostel series strangely, as much as i liked takashi miike works.

My copy of Ichi had the DVD in a plastic pouch, like a blood bag from a hospital. It was cool looking, but a pain to get out :D

Did you ever see Audition? That was another one I liked, from my big cinema phase.

I can’t handle suffering. People, animals, doesn’t matter. I enjoy a good explosion and I don’t have any problems seeing a movie with death. Even if it’s a house burning down… when they show grandma crying at the loss of her whole life and the scene is dragged out, I lose my mind.

Death is part of life. Bad crap happens every day. I love documentaries, even graphic WW2 movies don’t bother me. But filmmakers love to hook us with graphic scenes of suffering and I won’t even stay in the room if something like that is on the TV.

Hahaha, that is certainly creative!

I haven't seen it surprisingly, since it is "the Miike movie" I have to some day!
I also had a big cinema phase years ago, i remember watching lots of traumatizing stuff. Not only physical but psychologically traumatizing movies were my favorite
