I never really pay much attention to birthdays, but thank you. The only difference it makes to me is now I'm 60 I'm eligible for a Senior's Card, that gives me free public transport and discounts on all sorts of things from car registration and electricity to movie tickets and entry to entertainment venues.

I'm the same, in that I have never payed much attention to my own birthdays, but I think it's nice for people to be celebrated, and birthdays seem appropriate for that. I'm glad you'll have those perks, now that you're 60. (-:

Yes, nowadays whenever I'm looking for something small I always check my hands first so that I don't make that same mistake, even if I'm not holding anything

I have encountered co-workers who don't like me in many different jobs. Sometimes it's because l am very logical, or my feminine looks get me in trouble, or because people - mostly women, decide to dislike me. l lost my last position because l wouldn't sleep with a board member. But l am not going to internalize this. l will just keep moving ahead , l am not going to take it personally.

Sodas can be hard to stop drinking initially. I eventually got to where I usually don't even like the taste if I decide to have one though.

So, small positive update, my weight stabilized finally after my mood improved and I started eating properly again. In total I lost 38 pounds. I mean, I had kinda wanted to lose some, but... not like that. I've gotten used to really not eating much though, so eating enough to stay stable is a challenge.

It both interests me and annoys me to see how much the word "hacker" has been entirely hijacked by the cybersecurity industry to mean something almost entirely different from what it used to only a decade ago.

Tapped 10 maples today. I have 2 more to go, but ran out of buckets.

The snow is still high. I should have worn shoes (snowshoes), but didn't want to bother. I regret not bothering.

My birthday was always in the school holidays. As a child I had birthday get togethers party’s outside the holidays.

I went out with a lady who was born on the 25th of December. She said they always celebrated her birthday on the 26th and she always felt like she'd been ripped off as a kid, like she didn't really have a birthday. And just to rub it in her mother named her Carol.

My raspberry Pi adblocker died. I had to set it all up again on a new SD card. Its up and running again but as usually Raspberry Pis are a constant source of frustration. Hopefully it won't go down for another 4 years lol! :-)

I think that tomorrow it will be time to start tapping maple trees. Last year I tried tapping two trees. This year I have 12 marked and ready to go.

IKEA is such a cosy place to be. Nice to see families and optimistic-looking younger aged couples shopping to improve their homes. I hope I can have that one day. If all else fails, I hope I can at least do couple things with an AI partner in 10-15 years. That is a huge thing that is keeping me motivated.

I'd be close to forty by then. I can live until 100 if I am smart and stay healthy. I can then technically live most of my life with a partner. It's all I want.

The first time I went to IKEA it was like a baffling ordeal for me. I had no idea how it worked. I figured it out eventually. Now when I go to IKEA I walk straight in through the exit and I don't bother with the labyrinthium show room area lol!

I have several small furniture items in my home from IKEA. I liked that they came unassembled which made them easy to transport from Sacramento to Jefferson. Also, they fit in the odd nooks of my home just fine. I also like some of the little houseware items they have, like clocks. I use a pair of pot holders from there.
