That’s crazy! Omg. It kind of freaks me out too when they fly over.
We have bald eagles here too.

Rue is only 35lbs? He’s half the size of my second-smallest dog lol

We get Red Kites flying over quite often. On one occasion I was up the field with Dog V3; I looked up and one was hovering about six feet above looking down at me. Glad I wasn't a rodent!

I once had a turkey vulture empty its bowels over my driveway. It was like a carpet bombing of vile, foul smelling, evil.
It’s my best friend’s birthday!!! He’s 38 today, we’re almost exactly 10 years apart lol but we’ve been friends for a decade! And I just had the best day with him and his wife and our dogs!
Made it to the summit!! I will post dog pics once I process them from my camera.

Beautiful photo, I love scenic photos like this, especially in Summer when the leaves are all lush and a deep-emerald green.
Leaving my boarding clients and some of my dogs home with my one employee for the past couple of days is giving me anxiety. I completely trust her but leaving my business in someone else’s hands kinda freaks me out.

She isn’t staying in my home, just has access during the day. I’m fine with that.

It's your business, your baby. I can see why.

Well, I’m home and all my dogs and my clients are alive and my house is still standing and nothing is missing :tearsofjoy:
So she did a good job! Lol
My best friend and I and his wife were planning on continuing our "adventure" in New Hampshire tomorrow, but it's going to be too hot to hike up the mountain we originally thought of, that is kind of a tough hike. So we're going to Mt. Agamenticus (spelling? lol) in Maine instead. Another day getting up at the crack of dawn to drive a few hours, but it's worth it because traveling/hiking are special interests for me!

That sounds wonderful. I enjoy altitude gains, especially if it involves climbing through ecological zones. My favorites for that are the Smoky Mountains or Rocky Mountain National Park.

    Wishing you a great hike.

I was going through my catalogue of video clips of me training dogs... here is the voice reveal no one asked for lol. This is what I sound like. *cringe*
    Shaddock
    Shaddock
"I surprisingly have a very expressive voice (and face) lol" I mostly find that really interesting and sympathetic.
    Shaddock
    Shaddock
well I don´t really know you, but I´m 100% sure that I also would like you in real. lol. maybe imagination, but I don´t think so lol.
    Gerald Wilgus
    Gerald Wilgus
You sound nice. I bet you are expressive because I think dogs pick up on that. My cat sure picks up on my voice, but then ignores me. I think I have an expressive face because my spouse says that I would make a poor liar. But, when I used to play poker I'd go full monotonic.
Literally the ONLY downside to having my dogs is that they become the center of attention everywhere we go. I don’t like attention from strangers. Like I’m just trying to get lunch, man. Lol

When I took my yorkie for a walk I could not get people to stay away. :) She was a stranger magnet. A woman actually stopped her car once when she drove past us and said she just had to stop and say hello to the dog. But it's a good way to meet people.
    L
    Luca
People always stop their cars for us too! I know it’s a compliment, I just feel uncomfortable talking to strangers sometimes.
    Forest Cat
    Forest Cat
Yeah me too, talking with strangers. But dogs make it easier I think. :) Dogs really are good for meeting people. I have been thinking about getting a dog again, it would be so nice. I still miss my yorkie so unbelievably much.
Enzo totally nailed an intermediate Rally obedience course today with a perfect score. This dog continues to amaze me in ways I didn’t know were possible.
My friend sent me this and said this is me :tearsofjoy:

I say this about my dogs, too. They're all each other's pet!

I think it says much about humankind that this video reached 20 million views. it made me a bit passive-agressive listening how she speaks lol. I was like "please just shut up, thanks." lol.
    Check out this heel!!
Note that the leash is slack, and that he immediately comes to a halt when I stop. This is on a busy public pathway.
    L
    Luca
My preferred method is teaching them to heel in different patterns (like figure 8 and clover) and different situations so they get used to heeling all the time.
That’s a flat collar but I do use a martingale for him too.
    All-Rounder
    All-Rounder
He's a good boy, pays attention. Martingale's my favorite, it doesn't look as scary for skeptical people, it is safer from choking unlike the choke chain and damage so owners who don't know that much can also use it, and smaller breeds will accept it better. Plus it's colorful!

For fat unresponsive boys, treats arent my go-to,they run through a quarter a pack in a short time.I had a boy whose owner never shown him a toy or walked him,he didnt even have a collar.Took me a long time to spark any interest in a toy and redirect his constant mouthing.Resisting food was another lvl.His tactic was to completely lay down on the side otherwise his impulse would move his whole body towards the food
I fell asleep in the early evening lol. Now I’m awake way too early. Time to get some stuff done, I guess.

Some dogs love the softness of the bed and being with the owner when theyre about to sleep, some can have anxiety if they're not used to sleep alone, in their bed or in their crate. It's not great for every dog, some with aggressive issues hoard the bed and don't let people in and might bite. Possessiveness.
    All-Rounder
    All-Rounder
Some might start thinking theyre rule-makers of the house and start being bossy and spoiled, not listen to commands or respect the owners. That relationship can result in multiple behavioral issues and dogs making decisions when they cant recognize when theres a threat and the need to protect the owners because they see them as confused and unconfident, that they have to take over that job for the survival of the pack.
    All-Rounder
    All-Rounder
Normally dogs have to trust and check with the owner, not attack anyone who's talking or comes into the owner's house. Then they will feel less stressed and anxious, less in charge and more relaxed, because they realize the owner knows these things and shows they can communicate what's going on. That's also how dogs start thinking and being curious before reacting, using their senses.
I have the day off today and nothing scheduled so I'm bored out of my skull. But I will have a dog boarding here for the weekend and another one Monday through next Sunday. Going to spend the next half hour or so restocking canned dog food in the grooming room. And somehow I got cut on something in the yard this morning and didn't notice until my arm was covered in blood! So that's how my day has been so far lol
    L
    Luca
Thank you @Shaddock :) It's not a bad injury, it was just bleeding a lot. I was able to clean it and everything so it's not bleeding anymore. It looks ugly though lol

Turns out I have less canned food than I thought. I get two different kinds (beef and rice, and chicken) and I have more chicken than beef so I need to pick up some more from the store. I'm also waiting for the mail to arrive and I have a bunch of other chores to do. This is what I do when I'm not working lol

I would! Now I'm going to go on Etsy and look for one lol. Most of my bags and boxes have dogs on them, of course.
I thought it was going to be cold today so I'm wearing overalls and a long sleeve shirt. It's apparently going to be 77 degrees lol, oops

Happens to me a lot. I have to check the weather app every day to make sure it's not super chilly or hot, and that I know if it's raining and how bad and what hours it'll be raining.
Is it possible that I might have arthritis? My knees are making creaking sounds and hurt when I get up from a seated position. They are also stiff. I do have other medical conditions but nothing that could cause something like this, that I'm aware of. I'm going to mention it to a doctor but was just wondering if anyone else has anything like this?
    L
    Luca
Sounds like that "knee crepitus" thing. I'll definitely mention it to my doctor.
I don't take any vitamin pills but I do have a vitamin C supplement drink.

Could be residue from the surface of the joint not allowing slipping smoothly. Could be some damage from intense effort and pressure on the joints when the muscles are too tired to support the weight.

@Gerald Wilgus I have heard about that study but have not researched it as much as I’d like to yet!
I have a Newfoundland currently and my family used to breed Border Collies. So I would be very interested in reading more about that.

I’m always super impressed by Border Collies and their problem solving abilities. One of my friends has a Border Collie who is headed to the National obedience championship in December!

Good luck full focus to the Border Collie! Also, it's awesome to grow among dogs. I liked to spend my time with various people's dogs ever since childhood, I would always go and be with the dogs than with the people. They were super interesting and fun, and very different from one another. The black one was super chill and tolerant, the orange one was fiery and territorial but he'd completely calm if he got pet.
I think I may have said some things on here that were kind of inappropriate to say or overstepped some boundaries. Sorry if anyone is upset.

maybe you could give examples of posts/sentences from yourself which are rude in your opinion. so that others could give their opinion and maybe you´re the only person who thinks that they are rude. I think you´re the only person who is offended from your posts.

I have not seen anything that can be taken as offensive from you In any posting. Unless a forum staff member has contacted you to say that you were, they why worry yourself?

I’m just overthinking it, I guess… I think I just word things the wrong way sometimes. But I have really bad anxiety about causing conflict :/
