    Christmas feels odd this year. Everyone seems miserable on Christmas eve. Must be because I've transitioned more deeply into the adult world?

    I've been doing new things, so meeting new people as well. I realised that my social life and social skills haven't changed much at all. I had expectations that I don't think were extreme, yet I've not met them. I think I can conclude that the problem is with me fully. Perhaps I'm not open enough, giving others enough of an opportunity to connect, or not reciprocating enough or clearly.

    It's pretty jarring once I realised that the problem is truly fully with me. At the same time, it's powerful. I always thought it was my social status and looks that held me back, but I'm not able to solidly connect with people in the same group as me, yet others are.

    Same here. I keep trying but I am spoken over. Don't even mention the disaster it is whenever I try to talk solo with a female that's not a boomer that's single. A trainwreck at best. Talk about 2 word convert and lots of dead silence disputes my best efforts to ask relevant questions.

    The puritan movement sounds very appealing to me. And those hour-long sermons.. exactly what I was looking for. Why would someone choose to sing awkwardly with strangers rather than learn is beyond me.

    Mass was kind of underwhelming. I was expecting harsh lessons, deep theology and pondering, but I felt it was too ritualistic and drone-like in our behaviour. I honestly feel a back and forth conversation/dialogue would be a better format. It suits newcomers and experienced people more. How is a newcomer meant to understand what to do without guidance when it comes to rituals?

    You could trace it back centuries to Martin Luther, and look how much chaos, war and death that caused.

    Realistically you don't need a church to pray or be religious. In this day and age with the Internet I'm sure you can find forums and social groups.

    I'm going to walk into a new Catholic Church tomorrow. Hopefully, it goes well. Don't know any customs or anything, so I'll be winging it...

    Nipple is weird to say regarding church. A more appropriate word would have been "collarbone".

    You don't have to do any of the crossing yourself or any of the unfamiliar things. I am not a catholic, but I have been to many churches as a visitor.

    The people of that denomination went to a special class called RCIA either as children or adult Catholic converts to learn all those things. Each movement has a meaning to them, like sign language worship. And so if if you are a visitor and you don't know, it's okay to just walk in, look around a bit (Catholic churches are really pretty), and then sit down.

    It is normal, especially around Christmas for visitors to attend new churches. No one will look at you weird if you don't join in with the crossing or the kneeling, or communion.

    Yeah those stresses will age you, you might not get the diseases of over indulgence though!

    I guess my routine for the next 6 months (possibly 2 years) is going to be work, coding, sleep, repeat. I don't mind warehouse work, but it isn't something I want to be doing for the rest of my life.. It is quite motivating.

    @Outdated I was surprised at how many older people were there. Definitely agree with you, not worth breaking myself physically for a job. To be fair, a lot of them looked sort of healthy on the outside, but I bet many were dealing with pains in joints and their backs.

    @Outdated Like my trainer, he dislocated his knee by simply kneeling and rising whilst turning. Poor guy. He's in his 60s and called himself healthy...

    I was very active when I was your age and ended up with a lot of spots injuries, they come back to haunt you when you get older. I have no regrets though, you can't live your life like the boy in the bubble.

    No thoughts on my new job. People are there to clock in then clock out. Good for me I suppose. :D

    I think I just got my first job. I start Wednesday after Tuesday training. How contrary.

    I've started changing my behaviours so that they can be deemed as me investing into my future.

    How do you figure out what the source of your problems are? Intellect, self-esteem, good judgement, etc.. how'd do you know what you're missing? Obviously they all overlap, but how do you accurately judge what your weaknesses are?

    I would also add thinking about solutions and following through rather than ruminating on problems will achieve quick improvements. Men thrive through action and problem solving.

    Also, sometimes you've got to make some mistakes in order to figure out what your weaknesses are. They don't call it 'growing pains' for nothing!

    Some people are just born to be losers, and losers don't stand a chance at life. Not even had my first kiss. Not even held a girl's hand. Not only that, previous experience of bullying and ostracism could lead to me not entering somewhere I really want to be. I bet they're prospering. Brutal.

    I reckon I'm not going to go through with having ASD on my medical record and cancel my appointment. World's only getting worse. How long can I last on social welfare? Which women wants to be with a guy on welfare? And I think career progression would be good for the mind and will open more opportunities. I think I can become independent. I hope the army sees it that way.

    I rarely open this app, and this decided to appear when I did. It's unsettling how apt things can be or look. Almost like it's intentional. Usually, my timeline is filled with news.

    Christmas is near. Each time makes me reminisce of hymns I sung in primary school. It was the only time in my life I felt peace and joy at the same time. I don't know why. I never had a particularly strong connection with any of them.
