Answer a QUESTION with a QUESTION

What if somebody discovers, upon searching the inner self,
that the inner self is solid like a potato?
 
What would the perception of the inner self being solid say about the perceiver of such?
 
Didn't someone incredibly wise once describe looking out, as through the layers of a glass onion?
 
The question is, that, Since everyone else makes goulash of our souls, why can't we?
