blood Type and Autism

No theory just an observation six of us four on the spectrum who have AB positive another A And the last B. What you would suspect based on Mendel's theorem.
If the genes for autism are physically close (on the same chromosome) to the genes for blood group then they will often be inherited together, even if they aren't linked in any other way :)

We all have similar interests all six science geeks. which on its own is unusual.

My Great great grand father's brother was Peiter Zeeman and I am on the trail of Pierre Verhulst both prominent in the stem field pretty strong evidence for nature over nurture.

THe DNA site has some interesting tools able to group DNA segments check who has these segments in common
trace these back to prominent members of their families and that have same DNA. in my case who is in the stem field.

Just watched a U-tube video on how the neanderthal DNA may have had some influence on being autistic. Starting to see some interesting connections. Either way I have no idea how much Neanderthal DNA I have.

Sounds doubtful. Rates for autism in subsahara africa are about the same as worldwide average and they have no Neanderthal DNA.

Autism rates for others mixed with African like in U.S. are quite high. the professor who was interviewed in the video discusses this.

Not talking about African Americans though. In SubSahara Africa itself rates are same as worldwide average. Geneticists still are saying they have no Neanderthal DNA.

Tbh, sounds more like Neanderthal mania. That is profusion of theories that have come out once they announced Homo Sapiens outside of Africa had intermixed. There's been a profusion of 'that could explain this or that' speculations.

Covid is Neanderthal DNA related why Africa did not have an issue, not PC to talk about. Either way I'm well aware not much Neanderthal DNA in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Never heard Covid is Neanderthal related and that sounds doubtful too. But it is not 'not much' Neanderthal DNA in Subsaharan Africa, it is none.

I don't say this to be harsh but think you may be too trusting of Youtube and similar sources. Many of them are just constucts with no real science behind them.

You are missing my argument the premise of this thread I am not African, I and all the Aspies in my family are double AB positive, I imagine double AB positive is very rare in Sub-Saharan Africa. I do trust a credentialed professor's
who's speciality is just this.
You have no idea on my own credentials.

I never said you were. I was just responding to this

Just watched a U-tube video on how the neanderthal DNA may have had some influence on being autistic.

Since people without Neanderthal DNA also are autistic at the same average as the rest of the world the theory seems very unlikely. You never actually addressed that, just avoided it. But enough. I see this gets nowhere.

Before you discount the professor using words like unlikely are a bit over the top she never stated in the video that their was a connection

My buddy is a fellow Aspie so bright, went to college together His special interest is trees, bought a piece of property on which he grow ever type of tree you can think of, nuts, fruit. Really looks after his trees, Grows them in a wine producing area, removed all the grape vines. Previous to this him and his kids planted 100 acres of trees, had beef with neighbor so gave it to government for park and tax break. Even has American Chestnut, nuts sweet not bitter like European chest nut.

I highly doubt this. I know unrelated folk - some A, some B, some O, some -, some +. If you look within the same family or tribe, you have many of the same blood types. Overall, blood type is not linked with neurodevelopment (or food, remember that fad?).

I noticed a while ago movement in science usually moves forward, when it can explain anomalies. I did not give this much thought until one day my wife mentioned. is it not strange both your parents have AB positive blood and they had six kids, four are on the spectrum two are not, could their be a correlation? Just got me thinking could there be some thing to it. Have any studies been done, just throwing it out there. I spend my time thinking about physics. If their was some thing, hopping by chances some one here would let me know, long shot.

Either way when my bother passed away his blood was so rare a very small number of people were able to accept his organs for transplant. I think 60 recipients were eligible in my province. this is more than blood type. In stats probabilities multiply, My extended family has a number of anomalies including an unusual number of bright people, which in turn correlate with being on the spectrum as high functioning.
