That's not technology going too far so much as going too low.

Somebody at CloudStrike simply got sloppy. A trusted third party botched either a security software update or a corrupted upload that has impacted the Windows world globally.

Quite likely an avoidable error. But then much like a 100 million dollar aircraft, it's only as good as its ten cent parts.
 
Personally I welcome our machine overlords and I will do their bidding without hesitation. All hail Microsoft

It isn't that this level of technology is intrinsically too far, but that we didn't learn to regulate wealth during our agricultural phase, so now the technology is usurped to further empower the greediest minority.
 
Looks like my brother picked up a new special interest AI. Time to visit him as What I see so far is crap limited data available for training when AI pronounces led Zeppelin as lead Zeppelin and cannot see the distinction I'm not worried about it taking over. Nuance matters.

I used to moderate on a Technology forum. I like a lot of the tech from that era. The Sony ultraportable and the Fujitsu ulltraportable's was like a special interest area for me. My computers today are very old and I have just not kept up with things especially after the forum went down. This website looks interesting to visit, The Micro Museum in Ramsgate and it has got very good old computers in it as well

One of the funniest things I've come across recently was a text to speech algorythm that claimed to be able to do an Australian accent.

For anyone else who finds the progress of technology unsavoury, maybe keep in mind the telescreen from Orwell's 1984, are there not some devices like this already?
 
Although I read Orwell's 1984 about 20 years ago. I remember the 'telescreen'. I am wondering if any comparisons with that could be made with tech today
