Ok, the pulley project hit a bump in the road due to equipment being inappropriate, so it will return home where I am better equipped.

The wood chisel worked for removing the center nubs but the center holes will be easier at home.

The Farmall decided to act up yesterday but did get a resolution after we dragged her to the shop and sorted it out.
She just turned 75 , so she ain't a spring chicken by any means.

Then the rain started.

oh well, move along...

This morning I woke up to a much colder day, so the next on the list was a tent made of poly tarps to experiment with getting the drill press warm enough to paint.
She was 50f yesterday and is about 43f today, so I will monitor it over night to see if my idea will work using an oil filled electric radiator in the tent.
65 would work, but 70 is better, so wish me luck!

Ok, cross yer fingers and toes kids, I want to get her in her new dress soon!
I try to do things like that to keep my plants warm during a cold snap.

The tarp tent went horribly wrong, not because of the tarps, but because the heater couldn't keep up.

Plan b is to gain a propane fired heater and heat the iron instead of the room.
Another option I have is to get a diesel fired heater to do pretty much the same at a reduced cost for fuel.

No worries, I'm still having a great time here just hanging loose in the tinyhouse and catching up on movies and videos.

It is very warm here in the digs, so the weather isn't a factor I have to deal with.

I think the best part of this stay is the total solitude I get when here.
Yep, sometimes peopling can wear on this extrovert too.

The food department ain't exactly lacking either.
Been eating tons of sweets and treats backed up by plenty of drink varieties.
Yeah, it hasn't all been donuts and cookies, there are healthy meals on the menu too.

As expected, my new tablet is working out for connectivity with only a few dropouts a day, so all is good on that front.

It snowed today so we have a couple of inches of powder on the ground now too.
This place looks even cooler when it is dusted in white, but how I do long for the warmth of spring already.

Not a lot more to report, and possibly I can share a few images from here in the morning.

Til then, keep her between the ditches kids....

Before I moved to Florida, I was able to go to a friend’s cabin in the mountains in winter. Snow shoe in and out. Chop a hole in the ice for water. Fire up the wood stove. Pre-internet. Just peace and quiet by myself. I can see how you would like your vacation in your tarp tent.

Enjoy!

I'm not staying in a tarp tent, the tent was built to warm the drill press in order to paint it.

My tinyhouse was built as a vacation home that is on the showgrounds next to the Machineworks.

It was purpose built to replace the instant up tent that I used to stay in that was pitched inside of the building.

it was about 15 f when I ventured outdoors a bit ago, but once again, things are a balmy 74 in my tinyhouse on wheels.
The floor is colder, clocking in at 51f, but that is because it has yet to see any insulation.
(technically is is just a cabin)

(all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy)

Still not half bad compared to the tent life I had prior to it.

There are winter tents about the size of your building, made of canvas and heated with a wood stove. The tent is equipped with the appropriate stove pipe and holes. I’ve never used one, but I have friends who have.

I have one of those tent heaters for decor in my house, but I've built a kit to run a stove pipe out the window in an emergency. A friend has the same heater and used it for three winters in an RV. It was fine until the small-bore pipe clogged so badly from green wood that it could not be recovered.

Had to pack in to get to my digs, but I'm here for the day.

#1 on the to-do list is to drain down the coolant on my Farmall, the entire reason for being here.

The last check it was only protected to 5f and since it was low, it got hit with an additional half half gallon but was unable to get it started to fully circulate it.

Word on the street is a few nights where it will drop to -10, so better safe than sorry.
It's fairly cold up here but the highs are expected to rise above freezing for the next couple of days, so here I is saving my toy.

We are supposed to get even more snow Sunday night to add to what we already have.(the same reason I had to hike in here because the roadways up here are impassable)

My aides are never allowed to come to my home on either bad roads or temps that drop to 10f, my rules because believe it or not, I care about them.

Will be chilling here in the tinyhouse for a bit, then the tractor will be addressed.
After that, maybe a few pix from the winter wonderland are in order.
