Funniest movies of all time thread!

My top two funniest movies of all time are Ruthless People and Airplane. Written and directed by the same three people.

What do you consider to be the funniest movies of all time? What movies never fail to make you laugh out loud?

I have always liked those very silly comedies like Airplane, Top Secret, The Naked Gun, Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Hot Shots, Loaded Weapon and so on. Those types of movies are just a long string of jokes, you don't really have to pay attention to the story or anything. Leslie Nielsen was born to be a comedian, his face is priceless. And Chevy Chase movies, Spies Like Us, Funny Farm, Caddyshack and all the rest of them. He has that special way of acting stupid. :) I saw National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation in 1989, it was so different from everything else and I have watched it for Christmas every year since.

While I am certain many of Mel Brooks's films are better crafted and of greater quality (he was absolutely my favourite director when I was a child), nothing has gotten me to laugh like an idiot as much as Johnny English (the first one obviously). The coronation scene is perfection to my mind, and the touch of "God Save The King" brings it over the top. The brick joke of the spy accidentally shooting a secretary in the spine with a sleeping dart and then having her glare at Johnny while moving past in a wheelchair several scenes later never fails to elicit a laugh in me.

For me, the sillier the better. I'm also a big fan of 90's Jim Carrey comedies (like Dumb and Dumber) and Jackie Chan films.

I really like Ruthless People. Neighbors is a personal favorite of mine

This is a great topic @Metalhead .

You Australians actually made a movie that is very high on my list of favorite comedies. Young Einstein. :) That is a good movie. The guy is splitting atoms with a chisel in his shed to make bubbles in beer. lol Then he invents rock n' roll music. And the actors name is Yahoo Serious. Such a great name, how did that happen?
