Jazz

I remember seeing the movie "A League Of Their Own" with my mother. She started crying seeing the dance sequence in a bar. Swing music and dancing of a much earlier era.

With some wild dancing, and my mother saying, "That could have been me". She was also a "Donut Dolly" volunteering at the local USO.

It’s not letting me play the video, but I suspect it is what I really love.

Swing dancing to live 30s and 40s era jazz.
Yep. Put on In the Mood or String of Pearls and my body wants to start moving. You may have guessed that my taste in music is pretty eclectic.

Then there is Sing Sing Sing for high energy by Benny Goodman. I still love that music. Gene Krupa's drums really makes it.

And this was an expansion of the bands of the 20s. For modern versions there is the Pasadena Roof Orchestra. Their Putting on the Ritz is classic.

Gotta stop now or I will be up all night enjoying old big bands.
These bands really swing. The swing dancing pits a six count rhythm over the 4 beat music which makes the dancing really swing.

Dancing to In the Mood is sublime.

Carlos Santana's planned residency in Las Vegas has been delayed because he broke his finger. I'd love to see him perform in person. It would be worth the trip but I'm not going to stay in a Hard Rock casino/hotel or House of Blues. Been there, done that, too old for it.
