Love the soprano saxLisa Ekdahl - Open Your Window
Lisa has been on my top-5 Swedes list since the 1990s. I love her voice.
She does pop and jazz, with some bossanova.
They all want me to sign in to prove I’m not a bot. :-(The first time I heard her sing, I just thought "wow!". She has such a soft voice but at the same time there's some power in it. It's strong, powerful and soft. A rare voice. She has released 10 albums, most in Swedish but some in English.
She has many good songs, this is one of my favorites, it's called "In The Time of Doubt"
And this one, in English. It's superb.

A Happy Birthday to you, by the way.Love the soprano sax
This link worked. Thank you.You mean youtube demands that you sign in? That's odd, not sure why that is happening. Maybe this link works better: youtube
Wow! Superb!
He's an amazingly clever man. I also love another beat poem of his called Storm.Wow! Superb!
Also exceptional. The references to his wife tickled me the most. He's an amazingly clever man. I also love another beat poem of his called Storm.
Closed Captions don't work very well with an Aussie accent though, if you need text you're better off searching for a set of the lyrics.

He mentions his wife quite a lot, and why not, she's a huge part of his life, they met in high school. The references to his wife tickled me the most.
There’s a Western Swing song I learned many years ago at music camp called “I’m Satisfied with You”. The lyric basically outlines how she could have done better in her selection of a partner, more money, more fun, more, etc., but she is content to stay with this somewhat average guy.He mentions his wife quite a lot, and why not, she's a huge part of his life, they met in high school.
If I ever meet him I want to ask him if he got his wife to do his eyeliner for him. And he's mentioned in a few places that he had a hard time explaining this song to his wife:
A lot of it is due to his circumstances at the time as well. He was a relatively unknown and obscure stage actor who was also brilliant on the piano, not making a lot of money and struggling to make ends meet, then he got a break doing a comedy act and all of a sudden he needed a lot more material for his comedy routine. So he wrote a few nonsense songs that were purely for comedy.I get his very ASD point that so much is random chance. I didn’t find the song really funny until the end. Had to really crack up at his wife’s comment about teaching the toddler not to put things in her mouth.
Western Swing? Western Swing. I love that genre, especially from Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Asleep at the Wheel has a great retrospective album. I've seen them live and they are a high energy band. In Chicago in the summer there is Summerdance at stages around the city. Once went to Grant Park for an hour of learning swing and then another hour with Susan dancing to Western Swing. My partner at the time did not like the song. I’m not all that enamored of it either. Like Minchin’s wife, this song seems to characterize her as just who happened along at the right time and it could have been anyone.

And Gerald, do you dance Western Swing? Sigh. I do miss that dancing.Western Swing? Western Swing. I love that genre, especially from Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. And, who can resist Jambalaya!

Not very well, but I do enjoy it. The only other dancing that I have done regularly has been at the Cedar Polka Fest. Pierogies, kielbasa, beer, and music. Is there anything better? When I lived in Chicago, Brave Combo from Denton Texas would play at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn. The floor there was a polka mosh pit with lots of young people hopping around. Once my spouse and I stayed to closing at 4am then went directly to O'Hare to catch a flight to a dive trip in Bonaire. Oh, to be young again. And Gerald, do you dance Western Swing? Sigh. I do miss that dancing.
Swing dancing to live 30s and 40s era jazz.Is there anything better?
