Medical Marijuana

I’ve smoked dope all my life but this is a whole new world to me. I got a prescription using my autism as an excuse, and I bought some medical marijuana. Very slightly cheaper than what I was paying on the street, AU$200 gets me 30 grams instead of just an ounce. It’s a good smoke too.

The doctor prescribed me two different kinds and said one was for day time and the other for at night. I’m still experimenting with them both, they’re both different but I don’t see how time of day applies to them. Both are 19% THC, Sativa for day and Indica for night according to the doctor.

It’s handy to have different strains of weed though, if you’re smoking the one kind all the time you get desensitised to it after a while. The doctor also recommended that I buy a vape machine for it. I was dubious but I went home and read up on them a bit and then I bought one.

The vape doesn’t burn the weed, as you suck on it you draw heated air through the weed turning all it’s oils in to vapour. That way you get all the goodness without the nasty tar and carbon. The first time I tried it I thought it wasn’t working, I couldn’t feel any smoke going in to my lungs. I tried it again, it still seemed like nothing.

Then I got out the vape’s user manual and as I started reading I realised just how stoned I was. It’s good weed.

I'm glad it sounds like it's working for you. The state in which I live has had medical cannabis for a good number of years and autism is one of the approved diagnosis for it being prescribed as is PTSD, both of which I have. However, I have never pursued getting a medical card because of the cost of getting one, but also where I live a person has to reapply and be re-granted the card every single year. Autism doesn't go away. On principal, having to seek approval every year would irritate me. Recreational isn't yet legal where I am other than low dose edibles being legal. That could happen this year, however. Assuming it does, I plan on going the same route as your doctor prescribes for you (no combustion). I quit smoking it a bit over 20 years ago and wouldn't want to smell like a ball of resin/tar at this point, like I did back then.

It's moving in the right direction in the UK for the past few years. Not sure when it'll actually happen here though.

I've had a vape in the early days, but I always found rolling to be medititive. I think I will move away from smoking, I do recall the vape having obvious pros. Especially vaping in a room and the smell didn't cling like smoke naturally does.

I used to buy different strains and have a small amount of a few. You've reminded me that I should start doing this again. But that can wait until the van is done.

We saved a friend years ago from suicide. She had withdrawal from marijuana and I say this incase someone out there is similar where the withdrawal can be very severe.
Medical is actually the leaves in oils used for arthritis and various ailments.
The oil dropper is what a fundii healer crazy friend I met taught me, she said when she was injured in bed, she used this oil and found it benefitted her emotional pain. The idea is to use it that way if you wish to experiment, use it for a time to deal with trauma and then don't use it everyday to get withdrawal.

Drugs can cause adverse reactions in some, and lead to bi-polar or more clearly described as manic depressive. I know many are trying, so if you do experience extreme withdrawal, stop using cannabis.

As the legal use of hemp and other cannabis products grows, consumers are becoming more curious about their options. This includes cannabidiol (CBD)and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), two natural compounds found in plants of the Cannabis genus.

Both compounds interact with your body’s endocannabinoid system, but they have very different effects.

Read on to learn more about these compounds. While they may have a lot in common, they have some key differences that determine how they’re used.

A person who is unreactive or has suppressed emotions can benefit from THC drops.....the reason is it stimulates creation of dopamine in the brain. Used as a medicine for trauma (for time to heal not be dependent)
Not everyone can handle mind-altering drugs, my healer friend noted this is difference in oil, it's more compact and being better quality lends better healing process.
Native Indians warned use can open eyes into other realms but abuse is when spirit of cannabis revenge you. (Withdraw from excessive use)

My issue with this is having to smoke it. Inhaling burning plant material into your lungs is extremely bad for you and puts you at great risk of lung disease and cancer. For me, that risk outweighs any benefit it might otherwise have. So if I were to try such a thing, it would have to be in the form of a tablet or edible.

Where I live, CBD is legal and readily available, but not THC. I've tried CBD. I made me feel calm, but also kind of edgy at the same time - it was weird, I can't say I liked it that much. I've never tired THC.

I used light therapy with self help books. In my 30s I discovered I had chunks of memories missing. Many years later One memory triggered again, and my trauma surfaced. I spent time on this friends farm where I didn't have to cook and she help by running a bath. I had severe depression and it seemed the more I remembered the worse my state of mind. I pushed through and I feel more, I'm in touch with my pain as opposed to suppressing what I don't like. I say it's still painful, it's old sound that I wish I'd learnt to unlock and enjoy life more, earlier.

CBD won't make you high, if you older and find even with vitamins your bones are weak and Painful....many people use it and rub it into hands or where pain.
When I'm upset it can last days and disrupt my routine, little oil left over and I used it for this or my meltdowns just one or twice. Being a female I'd usually come home and meltdown alone so it worked but as I said on another thread one needs to assess that area for therapy work. A list what causes meltdowns, how can I avoid situation, what is better response to say to people that asserts my wants without hurting others or creating a scene.

This lady does healing and she had trouble with selling of oil until legalised, there are no parties. She was told by doctors she would never walk, she defied the odds. Sometimes family or trauma can be overwhelming and this is one medical use, used under guidance and support of older experienced person

  • Discover the moment of spiritual awakening, why it happens and what it means for your life.
  • The great Awakening is the destined moment when the "shell" of your life cracks and can’t be put back together.
  • This is the build-up to the point where you say to yourself, "I just can't do this anymore."
  • You start to feel a life beyond this one life. This life seems like a day at school that never ends...
  • Awakenings can take many forms. They can come quickly or over a longer period of time.
  • Your Awakening is about more than just You. There is a greater coordination at work and you are a part. Each of us was sent into the world for a purpose
  • You know this is not the life you were meant to live. But now what?
  • It begins a process of Deep Evaluation of your life and a sense of Presence may grow. It may feel that you’re not alone...
  • The Journey after experiencing a great awakening entails a lot of un-doing and what you’re searching for usually isn’t physically near you.
  • What will you do once this awakening happens? Ultimately, a great awakening initiates a Journey of movement for you.
So I'm nearing the end of worst part of my mid-life crisis....(no oils this time) it's reflecting back on my life, forgiving myself for times I couldn't perform (jobs or personal) but trying to tap the desire to create more with my life, even if it is just by helping others to realise their potential, the pitfalls and to create a more fulfilling life, a sense of purpose.

It should never have been outlawed here in the first place. Police completely ignore recreational use here and will only charge you if you're being a nuisance. That way it's a handy law, a tool police can use at their discretion in order to maintain peace in the greater community. It's not like that in all states though.

It's moving in the right direction in the UK for the past few years. Not sure when it'll actually happen here though.
We just changed legislature to open the way for experimentation with MDMA and psilocybin. I actually thought of you and your micro dosing when I read this article, maybe I should have posted it for you.

I have no issue with people using marijuana, recreational or medicinal, but it unfortunately wouldn't be a viable solution for me, based on the one experience I had where I got secondhand high and it triggered a massive panic attack.
It obviously works just fine for a lot of people though.

People have suggested marijuana, CBD, edibles, magic mushrooms, ayahuasca, MDMA, ketamine, and all other kinds of various substances to me to help with anxiety, but ironically I think they might just make my anxiety worse.
I'm also not basing this on just the time I got secondhand high, I'm also going based on my adverse reaction to other substances that I was actually prescribed (like anesthesia, ADHD medication, SSRIs, Xanax, and cough medicine) that all triggered my anxiety in some way, or in the case of cough syrup, seemed to trigger a seizure.
I also have a completely bonkers reaction to drinking alcohol so I don't think marijuana would be any better.
I'm also in a much better place with my mental health now and have been cutting back on relying on medication anyway.

Nothing wrong with using marijuana or shrooms responsibly. It's just not for me.

Drugs is all fun and games until someone snaps and tries to stab you in the eye with a fork. It's drugs. Cannabis is one thing, not the worst drug, many experience no problems with it. But it's still a drug. And these other drugs, it's gambling. Maybe everything will be fine. Or maybe you'll stab someone in the eye with a fork. :fearscream:
Was that something that actually happened??

I was stabbed in the shoulder by a drugged out freak 20 years ago. Not the eye, but it was unpleasant. The thing about these harder drugs is that you never know. There's no guarantee. And when things go sideways with those drugs, it really goes sideways. :fearscream:Things go from normal to bloody chaos in 10 seconds flat. People get paranoid and all sorts of things.
I'm so sorry. That's absolutely terrifying.
I don't trust myself with anything beyond alcohol, so I'm better off just not trying.

Agreed, not everyone responds the same, doesn't agree with everyone.
Let's say for arguments sake she chooses herself to try MDNA
Scenario 1 - she's too young and believes it cures the left brain or awardness in bed. Becomes dependent on drug in belief that it fixes her relationship with men.
Scenario 2 - she's older and has a fun enlightened experience but knows when to stop. This wouldn't be as much problem as not long term use as in dopamine levels drop and sometimes drug use can be irreversible.
Scenario 3 - he or she can't cope and it affects their normal stability, due to bad experience may inhibit their social belief in their perception of what's accepted as the norm.
Scenario 4 - he is young and wants to fit in, smoking marijuana affects his studies, his concentration and causes more social difficulties. May experience withdraw and deteriorate from socialising a little to not going out at all.

It's a free world, but I just say if you feeling bad, then stop the drugs. I'm just not promoting recreational use, howver sometimes and subject to whether the person totally looses their mind or heals and in open mindedness thc can benefit PTSD or trauma but I'm not encouraging this.

Medical marijuana is legal where I live, and there are a lot of dispensaries here now.
But smoking marijuana is still not permitted in the community I live in, and if you're going to do it you have to be outside of the property lines and during hours that people are not likely to be awake.
Incense is banned here too for some reason lol

A very basic and common fire hazard that insurers as lobbyists pour huge amounts of money to legislators to ban.

- Because they can. Common hazards ultimately cost insurers more losses than inherent or special hazards.

Of course they are also competing with similar lobbyists representing tobacco companies with the most common and prevalent fire hazard there is- smoking.

-Because they can as well.

Anything is possible if you have enough money to throw at the right people.

Pot does one scary thing to me in my own case. It wipes out any ability to mask my autistic traits and behaviors. With some unhappy results. Something that doesn't happen with alcohol.

In my prior experience with it (smoking it when I was younger) it did the opposite for me. I was able to communicate verbally so much better. It relaxed my mind and talking, conveying ideas verbally became MUCH easier. It lessened my autistic traits. Edibles do the same for me now. I feel less encumbered and more easily able to talk when I take a moderate dose.

No different than pharmaceuticals. For some they might work wonders. For others, they may cause harm or do little to improve things. But the public deserves to have choices.

Reminds me instantly of penicillin and tofranil. VERY bad for me personally.
