Medical Marijuana

Nothing wrong with using marijuana or shrooms responsibly. It's just not for me.
Well said. Understanding yourself and what works for you is important, understanding that that is not likely to work for other people is important too. That whole post was very nicely written.

I remember outdated (original post for this thread) I remember you talking about your cognitive therapy and it is what happened to the older generation aspies. I avoid topic of drugs but wanted to share this because aspies now are getting into trying everything and my Mom was born in 60s hippie erra, and undiagnosed I think many were exposed to drug culture then, today I believe it's worse.

I ask you again about a criminal genius because it's someone deprived of education or opputunity who is still highly intelligent, it is a waste to smoke daily but like I said there was a time I was so emotionally down n depressed over memories that I suppose it could have only done good.
I have dealt with suicide, personally. Feeling I'd messed up my education, and I blame myself for being just a programmer as opposed to working for national geographic and making a difference.

Pot does one scary thing to me in my own case. It wipes out any ability to mask my autistic traits and behaviors. With some unhappy results. Something that doesn't happen with alcohol.
As a teenager I did barwork as a second job, if I had a smoke before work I was nowhere near as good at controlling people. Pouring fancy drinks has little to do with barwork, the job is mostly babysitting a room full of drunks.

Sometimes I wish it was banned here, the smell really annoys me.

It can be awful, I walked into a room a while ago and had to leave because the incense was too much. I didn't check but I'm 100% sure the label on that incense said "Old, wet gym sock with cinnamon and dog breath".

I had the same issue just a couple of days ago, I walked in to one of those $2 junk shops for a browse around and had to leave again because of the incense.

Here they burn incense in the churches. I can't stand the smell.
There was one scent I didn't mind so much, called Oak Moss. When I was living in the bush I discovered that a lot of dead tree branches had this moss growing on them, even though they're eucalypts and not oaks. When you burn that wood it smells just like the incense.

You had to be careful to not put any of that wood in your cook fire, otherwise all your food came out tasting like perfume.

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter made in your brain. It plays a role as a “reward center” and in many body functions, including memory, movement, motivation, mood, attention and more.Dopamine also acts as a hormone. Dopamine, epinephrine and norepinephrine are the main catecholamines (a label based on having part of the same molecular structure).
As a neurotransmitter, dopamine is involved in:

  • Movement.
  • Memory.
  • Pleasurable reward and motivation.
  • Behavior and cognition.
  • Attention.
  • Sleep and arousal.
  • Mood.
  • Learning.
  • Lactation.
The nerve pathway that is predominantly affected by ecstasy is called the serotonin pathway. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is synthesized, stored, and released by specific neurons in this pathway. It is involved in the regulation of several processes within the brain, including mood, emotions, aggression, sleep, appetite, anxiety, memory, and perceptions.

They found that ecstasy users showed significant reductions in the way serotonin is transported in the brain. This can have a particular impact on regulating appropriate emotional reactions to situations.

I’ve smoked dope all my life but this is a whole new world to me. I got a prescription using my autism as an excuse, and I bought some medical marijuana. Very slightly cheaper than what I was paying on the street, AU$200 gets me 30 grams instead of just an ounce. It’s a good smoke too.

The doctor prescribed me two different kinds and said one was for day time and the other for at night. I’m still experimenting with them both, they’re both different but I don’t see how time of day applies to them. Both are 19% THC, Sativa for day and Indica for night according to the doctor.

It’s handy to have different strains of weed though, if you’re smoking the one kind all the time you get desensitised to it after a while. The doctor also recommended that I buy a vape machine for it. I was dubious but I went home and read up on them a bit and then I bought one.

The vape doesn’t burn the weed, as you suck on it you draw heated air through the weed turning all it’s oils in to vapour. That way you get all the goodness without the nasty tar and carbon. The first time I tried it I thought it wasn’t working, I couldn’t feel any smoke going in to my lungs. I tried it again, it still seemed like nothing.

Then I got out the vape’s user manual and as I started reading I realised just how stoned I was. It’s good weed.

One of those poor benighted places that hasn't yet fully legalized?

It should never have been outlawed here in the first place. Police completely ignore recreational use here and will only charge you if you're being a nuisance. That way it's a handy law, a tool police can use at their discretion in order to maintain peace in the greater community. It's not like that in all states though.

We just changed legislature to open the way for experimentation with MDMA and psilocybin. I actually thought of you and your micro dosing when I read this article, maybe I should have posted it for you.

California had intermittent propositions on the ballot since the 1970s to legalize marijuana. The polls indicated that California citizens favored legalization every election, but high-propensity California voters did not. It was decriminalized in the 70s, (personal use amounts were reduced to a ticket) legalized for medical use in 1996, and legalized for recreational use in 2016. No study since has shown any increase in traffic accidents relative to any of these changes.

Yet millions of dollars were spent fighting it every time it came onto the ballot. Most of it was taxpayer money. The federal government threatened to withhold Highway Trust Fund money if it passed. California treated it as a violation of the health code.

The federal government enacted a tax on marijuana and then refused to collect it. Under Federal law, it still is a tax code violation, but the government is looking the other way because enforcing the law would be politically damaging and might lead to a court ruling (states' rights) overturning its authority. Still makes finances very difficult because banks won't touch the money. Government still requires drug tests and coerces employers into requiring them too. Legal pot in your blood can still disqualify you from many jobs.

This is part of the story that drives me mental. Australia didn't outlaw marijuana until 1974, and the only reason we did so was because the United States demanded it. If we didn't agree then we wouldn't get the trade agreement that we desperately needed at that time.

Our government promised us at the time that those laws would not be enforced and that they were only being put in place to keep the yanks happy. Then the religious sector of our community jumped up and down about it, and they had a lot of sway back in those days, then all of a sudden Australia became like a police state as far as marijuana was concerned.

That lasted for about 6 or 8 years, then we had a few tumultuous riots over different events that completely eroded any confidence on decisions made in the name of religion, from gay rights to police corruption, child abuse and money laundering. The Catholic Church came very close to being listed as a criminal terrorist organisation.

The only reason we haven't fully legalised it again is because far too many people of influence are making lots of money out of the status quo. I know from experience that where I live happens to be the best soil and climate in the world for growing cannabis, yet the medicinal cannabis I bought legally comes from Canada.

I hate the smell of incense, air fresheners, perfume, scented candles - in other words, anything that produces an artificial smell. I'd rather smell a barnyard after a good rain than perfumes.

Since my new research I no longer use CBD oil on my wrists, I suppose cause it's in my opinion doing opposite for moto-coord or pain in bones. I havent smoked many decades as I have adverse effect. Maybe just TLC for extreme emotional stress.

An interesting phenomenon - my body has started a weight loss cycle again. This seems to just happen naturally with me sometimes, I think it largely depends on my emotional status. When I'm feeling down I find comfort in food. I'm not deliberately trying to lose weight, although I definitely need to. I'm just not as hungry any more.

I can't help but notice that this cycle has started at the same time as I got legal marijuana.

It could just be coincidence. Maybe it's something about the particular strain of the weed I bought, or it's quality. I think it's also partly to do with the people I had to associate with in order to buy weed before too, now I just go to a chemist.

No matter what the reason, I'm happy about it. It will be interesting to see how long the cycle lasts this time and how much weight I lose, realistically I need to drop between 15 and 20 Kg.

I'm still losing weight. Out of the fat pants and back in normal jeans again now. :)

I don't own a set of scales but at a guess I'd say I've dropped close to 5 Kg in two weeks. It tends to freak people out a bit that I can gain and lose weight so quickly, but this is quite normal for me.

That first 5 kilos was probably mostly water, the next 10 kilos will take a little longer, hopefully I can keep the momentum up and I'll be back to my old self before winter starts.

There's a lot of crackpots in the world that just want to tell you all sorts of things. If you want to know anything about it try talking to someone who's been using it for 40 years. :)

I'm happy to answer your questions if you have any.

There also many amateurs who smoked the cheapie and don't even begin to understand medical marijuana. Smoking everyday is according to I think Maria Mercado and Carlos Castaneda creating what the west now documents as withdrawal. The person who I got my THC from was actual tribal healer, a concept the west might have to adapt s text book psychologist too because some on forum already said no way, no thanks to spending few hrs at shrink. Interestingly quoting tribal names above marijuana opened eyes to spiritual realm whether reference to schitsophrenia or asd with notes on some already having spiritual gift.
It's difference between Sigmund Freud following Carl Jung theory and a western influence.
Pls be advised medical marijuana to treat NT with arthritis is different from asd and medical symptoms and requires a distinction.
