My daily recommendations.

Today I recommend the side project from Sleep's Al Cisneros: OM

I have heard of OM before but hadn't listened to any of their albums until yesterday and I became a huge fan! I've been listening to their albums today and I've liked what I've heard.

I recommend all their music but, since I can only post one album I'll post the first one I checked out.

Om are from San Francisco, CA

Today I recommend this amazing album by Boards of Canada, it may not be for everyone but it's a pretty solid album IMHO.

Today I recommend the very amazing one man band called Humanotone, yet, another one of my personal favorites. If you like metal you may like this band.

Humanotone is from Coquimbo, Chile (their music is in english tho)

HIGHLY recommended

Today I recommend Hepcat, a band that was recommended to me by the singer of the ska band I was a part of.

Yet another one of my favorite albums

It's not ska-punk or mainstream ska (which I don't mind) but traditional ballroom Jamaican Ska, highly recommended

Hepcat are from southern California

Today I recommend Altin Gün
They were recommended to me by a very kind stranger over Reddit (when I still had an account there), I heard this album and I immediately fell in love with them. If you're into world music you will love Altin Gün

They are from The Netherlands

Yes! Love them. I've got their latest album "Ask" on vinyl, too. They're not from Turkey though, but the Netherlands.
I looked "ask" up, it means love or passion.
"Gece" means night.
"Altin Gün" means Golden Day.

@elgat0verde - I just joined this forum yesterday and I've really been having fun exploring the different boards. I got really excited finding this thread of yours. For starters, I can already see a lot of familiar favorites in your recommendations, I appreciate not only your taste in music (from what I can tell so far) but the fact that sharing music you enjoy with other people, clearly is something you take joy and pride in doing. I relate big time to that. Thank you for doing what you're doing here. I'll be following this thread and checking out more of these recommendations from you.

Today I recommend the band Uncle Chris

They are another one of my personal favorites! I have talked to one of them over instagram back when I had one and they checked out my soundcloud which I think is pretty cool, they seem to be very down to earth. I do have a favorite song in this album and it's "green eyes"

Uncle Chris are from San Francisco, CA

Today I recommend the album You by the band Gong. This album was recommended by a kind stranger on Instagram (when I had one), it's a very interesting listen.

Gong are from Paris, France (according to wikipedia)

Today I recommend the album "Stoner Witch" by Melvins (yes, it's Melvins, not The Melvins)

I can't remember when I discovered this amazing band but they're definitely one of my favorites, also, another good album is "Houdini" but this is the first album I ever heard from them so it's my favorite.

Melvins are from Montesano, Washington

Today I recommend the very talented Phum Viphurit

I discovered his music randomly while listening to a radio station on my preferred music provider at the time (youtube music), I really like his lyrics and his voice is just wonderful.

Phum Viphurit is from Bangkok, Thailand (his music is in English)

Today I recommend another one of my personal favorite albums

"Long Lost" by the very amazing Lord Huron (one of my favorite bands as well)

This album speaks about how I feel as well, every song has lyrics that really resonate with me, I love their melancholic music and lyrics.

I could write a 10000 word post about why I like them so much but, trust me, they're GOOD

Lord Huron are from Los Angeles, California

Did I mention how amazing the lyrics are?

Today I recommend the very amazing band pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs (yes, that's their name)

I discovered them when I had an Instagram account and interacted with the guitar player, they are pretty cool dudes that play pretty cool music. One of my personal favorites as well

pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs are from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

This wouldn't be a recommendation list if I didn't mention this very amazing and perfect album by the one and only Neutral Milk Hotel.

I had heard of a LOT of people that recommended it, and two people highly recommended it to me (one in college). It took me many years to finally give it a go and it quickly became another of my favorite albums of all time. It is simple, yet beautiful.

Of course, I am referring to "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" even if you're not into indie music give it a shot, it's an amazing listen and as music lover I cannot recommend it enough. If you love music, you'll definitely love this album.

You can't talk about Sleep's Al Cisneros without also mentioning Matt Pike and his side project: High On Fire

Today I recommend the album "Death Is This Communion" which is a VERY good listen if you're into metal.

High on fire are from Oakland, California

Today I recommend Mongo Santamaria and his album "Sofrito"

This is one of my personal favorites as well, a very well done album with amazing memorable tracks such as "Five on the color side"

I would call his music Jazz infused latin music.

Another one of my highly recommended albums.

Mongo Santamaria was from Havana, Cuba

Today's recommendation is The Budos Band and their very amazing album "V"

I discovered this band while watching music videos on youtube in the channel for KEXP (highly recommended to discover new amazing bands) and it took me a bit to listen to some of their albums. All of them I've really enjoyed, BUT, "V" is the first album I checked out because of the song "Old Engine Oil" those bass licks are just amazing!

Another one of my personal favorites

The Budos Band is from Staten Island, NY
