My daily recommendations.

Today I recommend the very amazing and talented band: Khruangbin

I discovered them watching youtube music videos, I saw a full performance of them and then listened to this album. Don't worry, in spite of them having songs with names in spanish they are, for the most part, an instrumental band.

Khruangbin are from Houston, Texas

Today I recommend a true masterpiece by an amazing band.

A lot of your might've heard of them or heard this album which is another of my favorite albums of all time.

Of course I am talking about "40 Oz to Freedom" by the amazing Sublime. What can I say about sublime that hasn't been said before? I really admire Bradley Nowell and his voice and his love for music that you can hear in every single album.

He didn't care about fame or money, he just cared about making music and that is admirable and my biggest dream, just making music for people to listen to.

Sublime were from Long Beach, California

My first Spanish music recommendation comes from the very amazing, extremely talented, super cool band "Soda Stereo"

Soda Stereo is my favorite band of all time and I absolutely love them (side by side with Harley Poe) they were formed in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1982

Fronted by the VERY TALENTED Gustavo Cerati, they were active from 1982 to 1997 and did a couple reunion tours afterwards.

They have 7 studio albums under their belt and I absolutely love all of them, however, my favorite album of all time (besides In The Aeroplane Over The Sea) is this one: "Comfort y Musica Para Volar" (Comfort and music to fly to) The epitome of their talent. This is an "unplugged" album from them and I put unplugged under quotes because they did use plugged in instruments, first band to do this.

I don't really know what to say about this album without sounding like a fanboy, it's an album I listen to quite frequently, the songs, the music, the arrangements, everything is perfectly done and executed.

Cerati had a very amazing solo career as well and I will be sharing my favorite album from his soon. Tragically he passed away in 2014 his death is one of the few deaths from famous people that made me sad.

So, without further ado, here is the best album ever recorded of all time "Comfort y Musica Para Volar" (highly recommended if
you're under the influence of certain green substances
)

Today I recommend the album "Time Out" by The Dave Brubeck Quartet

An amazing listen that is highly recommended!

I can't remember when or where I discovered this band but I do distinctively remember their song: Take Five for some reason. Maybe I heard it on another life

The Dave Brubeck Quartet were from San Francisco, California

Great choice. This is one of my favorite albums. It's a shame he's still kind of a "one-hit wonder," at least outside of jazz. He did so much great work, and I think some of those old albums are still out of print.

Time Out probably isn't so hard to find. But, when the Columbia albums came out on CD in the 80s and early 90s, a lot were missing. Some were finally issued in the late 90s, like Jazz Impressions of Japan. Spotify has a good selection, too.

If you're looking for vinyl reissues of Time Out, Time Further Out, or other big albums, those probably aren't hard to find.

I already recommended Al Cisnero's "OM"

I already recommended Matt Pike's "High on fire"

So... where is their main band?

Today I recommend Sleep, the band that got me into doom metal (my favorite metal subgenre TBH) and their album "Sleep's Holy Mountain"

If you're into Doom metal you might have heard of them before, but if you haven't, definitely give them a listen.

Yet another one of my personal favorites

Sleep are from San Jose, California

Today I recommend the album "Elis & Tom"

A wonderful album to get into Bossa Nova music, a genre I really like and visit a lot and one of my favorite musical genres.

This album was recorded by two very talented Bossa musicians Elis Regina and Antonio Carlos Jobim

Both are from Brazil

It took me a while to remember the name of this band because I am HORRIBLE with names but alas I have remembered and today I come to you with the album "Shack-man" by the band Medeski, Martin & Wood.

Honestly this is the only album I've heard from them and I quite like it! I would call it modern jazz or a jam band perhaps.... Music, as all arts, is very subjective. While some people would put a band in a certain genre, other people would disagree and put them in a different genre. We all come from different musical backgrounds after all and sometimes even disagree with what a band would label themselves as (Ghost labeling themselves as metal, LOL)

Anyhow, I'm diverging here.

I really, really like this album but it's not one of my personal favorites. Highly recommended tho!

Medeski, Martin & Wood is from Brooklyn New York

Today I recommend the very talented "Skinshape"

A band I highly recommend, this is a pretty good album that I really enjoy listening to.

Skinshape is from London, UK

Today's recommendation comes from what I believe to be a soundtrack of an adult film

What?

Yes

I find this album to be extremely good and quite enjoyable to listen to, if you are into psychedelic rock you will definitely love this album.

The album is called "Vampyros Lesbos: Sexadelic Dance Party" and I quite like it, the movie is from 1971 with the name Vampyros Lesbos and was directed by Jesus Franco.

Now, I haven't watched the movie and I doubt I ever will but I can't let a good album pass even if it comes from an interesting source. I discovered this album when I had an instagram through a fellow music lover from Japan.

Today I recommend one of my personal favorite Doom Metal bands: BONGTOWER and my favorite album by them "Altered States"

BONGTOWER are from Stravopol, Russia

Today's recommendation is not that obscure but still a good album

Some younger people may not know it or even heard of it but some of us older folk (from the early 2000') may remember it.

I am referring to the album Mezzanine by the band Massive Attack

I think I heard the song "teardrop" on some soundtrack and liked it but never got into researching the band more (I was a HUGE snob back then as well)

I finally heard it last year and I quite liked it

Massive Attack is from Bristol, England.

Today I recommend the Black Belles.

This is one of my personal favorite bands and I honestly have a HUGE crush on Shelby Lynn

Black Belles are from Nashville, Tennessee

Today I recommend the album "Sauropoda" by the band L'éclair

I very recently discovered this amazing band so I don't know much about them just yet, back in the day I'd REALLY get into learning everything I could about a band I liked but nowadays I just enjoy listening to their music and buying their merch whenever I can.

I really don't care about the musicians personal life because it's none of my business what they do.

L'éclair are from Geneva, Switzerland
