People on reddit and other forums can be so mean

I like on reddit how there are subreddits for herbalism and weaving. But even there, I've gotten really salty comments that make me feel bad.

I think a lot of them are Neurotypicals who think I am being bossy or a know it all, when I'm just all tingly and happy, infodumping about something new and special. Or maybe they're just trolls.

I do enjoy, however, the subreddits where people ask the internet to identify this or that plant. I am kind of good at it.

Kumihimo weaving too. That enchants me. It's nice to see pictures of people doing something I love.

I find myself blocking most subreddits though. Virtually every one I come across, that isn't in my little narrow band of family friendly interests. And everyone rude too.

On Autismforums, this is my home. My community online. I really like you all.

Reddit gives a forum for extreme vilification of people with disability. Look up Carly Findlay and Reddit on Google and you’ll see what I mean.

I abandoned non-autistic social forums about 12 years ago due to inevitable friction.

I have been cyberstalked/trolled since the genesis of the modern internet.
The joys of an aspie in an NT-dominated world. Yay!

That is why I don't mind this regulated forum. If people want a free-for-all of abuse and bad behavior, there are other parts of the internet they can visit.

Even other forum(s) for autistic people that will go unnamed. For better or worse, for the love of our Planet. "Right"? (laughs) (rolls eyes at self)
