Post something Weird or Random

Got something tweet-like that doesn't fit anywhere else?
A new idea about something?
A plan for the next ten minutes?
A witty come-back to something someone said a week ago.
Created a new meme?
A clever bon mot?
A bonny motte, with or without a bailey?
This is the place for you.

Certain type of rock is “friable”, meaning that it comes apart easily. I heard from a rock-climber friend that there is a phrase among rock-climbers: “You don’t climb friable rock until you’re good enough to know why you don’t climb friable rock.”

I love the pattern of that witticism and I’ve found that it fits so many other situations:

You don’t roll-your-own encryption until you’re good enough to know why you don’t roll-your-own encryption.

You don’t ignore Dr. Fauci’s advice until you’re smart enough to know why you don’t ignore Dr. Fauci’s advice.

I am engaging in an accidental experiment that will determine how many times you can wash a disposable mask before it falls apart. So far I'm up to 3.
