Post something Weird or Random

Hold on, people walk in malls for exercise? 🤔 Haven't seen that before. Is it because of weather? They can avoid rain and such?
Some people are more interested into looking at shop than nature, so this is why they exercise like that, I know those people myself.

They don't charge. The mall is its own entity, not selling anything. The mall space may open before any stores do, because it's common for people to walk malls for exercise, before they get too many shoppers.
Ok, it did sound rather an extreme element of capitalism! 😄
I know America has something I guess may be called Mall-culture (not malculture!!!! 😁😉) so the idea they'd start charging entry to go shopping isn't so far fetched from my provincial little side of the world!

Another word that confuses Americans when they come here for a holiday, the word Mall has a specific meaning here. It's a street that has been closed off to all except pedestrian traffic. Each of our major cities has at least one mall. If you're looking for a shopping centre don't ask for directions to a mall.

Disney Springs is full of retail stores, restaurants, movie theaters, rides. One has to specify the absence of fees for entrance and parking, because everything with the Disney name costs $$$.

That's a German Amphicar. Lyndon Johnson had one, and he'd take guests for a ride around his ranch. Then he'd pretend that the brakes had failed on the road down to the pond.

Yes, it's common in the US for people to walk in malls for exercise due to bad weather and personal safety issues. You're much less likely to get mugged inside the mall than outside in the parking lot.

We do that outside here, we have small malls and an old saying, "There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing". :) That's one of the first things kids learn. In kindergarten they chase us outside in rain and snow and storms, it's all a clothing issue.

Yes, I had elderly relatives downstate who were in a mall walking club.
They got together on a regular basis, walked around the mall and
socialized with each other.

It sounds smart, not having to deal with weather and traffic and other things. And American malls are huge, so lots of space to roam.

I've always felt weird and random.
