Post something Weird or Random

I did something totally weird and random last night.

On total impulse, I purchased a ticket to a concert in Zurich, Switzerland, plus motel room and airfare which is really cheap just now.

I had just found out about the concert. It was soon enough that there were still good seats available.

I am sort of buzzing and in a state of shock.

But I did it and am very excited about it.

No way, concert in Zurich? I'm so envious. :) Have a nice trip. Switzerland is so nice.

I never do anything so rash. See a concert overseas, buy tickets, reserve hotel, haven't quite got the flight taken care of. Did that all in a few minutes. Scary. I felt like I was jumping off one of those ski jumps.

I don't speak Swiss German, or even German. I never go somewhere I don't know the language.

So, assuming I do something in Switzerland besides the concert, do you have any recommendations? I do want to try to be in the French speaking part of the country. The last time I was in Switzerland was 50 years ago?!

It won’t let me see it. Says I need to sign in. But no place to do so. Clicked on more, information and it all disappeared.
Here's the same video on someone else's channel. Note that the voice you hear is the youtuber's, the original video has sound but no one speaks.

I really don't understand why youtube blocks some videos in some countries, I would understand if it was a culturally sensitive topic but blocking things like this is ridiculous. There's a surprisingly large number of Aussie videos that show me the message "Not available in your country" which really doesn't make sense as we're possibly one of the last people to be offended or react poorly.

The "Landesmuseum" is in Zurich, that's worth a look.

Beyer Clock and Watch museum is there, that can be interesting.

And the Niederdorf neighborhood in the old town is nice. Quaint. At least it was, I hope it still is nice. 🤔

Lake Zurich is always nice, but it's November so not as nice as in the summer. There are some other places, but they are not in Zurich. So a little inconvenient to get there, have to travel. I hope you have a nice time there.

That’s outrageous in a funny way. What was that squirrel thinking? Or was he trained perhaps?

Thank you for the suggestions. The concert isn’t until March. So I might see some spring in some areas.

I want to travel and not just stay in Zurich.

One word, Zug. 😃 Nestled on the shore of lake Zug in the heart of Switzerland, the town is one of the nicest in the country I think. They have things like the Lohri House, the oldest house of goldsmiths in the world. And Lucerne and lake Lucerne is just around the corner.

Visit the Swiss Army Knife factory, the headquarters of the Red Cross, attend an alphorn concert, maybe get lost so a St. Bernard with a whiskey barrel around its neck can rescue you, take yodeling or skiing lessons? I'd love to go! I'd eat cheese the entire time.
