Ladies and gentlemen... MY DESKTOP!

Ah for the love of Buddha`s sake! Why putting a simple picture here is so damn hard!?

I like the background and that art "thing" but that blue photoshop thing in front of it ruins it.

I'm not good that with Photoshop stuff, all of my backgrounds I found somewhere.

Edited: accidentally used old screenshot.

I've tried Kubuntu and Ubuntu, and my reviews on them are awesome, but it just doesn't quite feel like me just yet.
Once the new Ubuntu 10 final release comes out, I post you a screenshot.

The main reason I use Ubuntu is due to my internet. Its the only one I know of that is verified to work with 3G. My personal choice would likely be either Arch, Mint or OpenSuSe, but I can't verify all of my hardware works on those. Still, I am happy with Ubuntu. It is highly customizable, as you can see by my little skull menu bar icon that is somewhat similar to your windows one. I like how it lets you put drawers on the menu bar(see my screen shot, they are near the trash can) that allows to store/hide stuff you use often. That, in addition to keybindings means I have absolutely no reason to have anything obscuring my wallpaper. Linux in general is really good at not needing stuff on your desktop and still have everything accessible.

I am actually bummed out by 10, because they have changed a lot of things that I liked a lot, including networking without improving many old flaws first. Not sure on how this will affect me. Probably badly. They also did away with Xorg... not sure what the replacement is. I will be forced to either upgrade o switch soon though, because support for 9.04 is ending sometime in the next year or so. I will likely try Mint, as it seems to be closest to Ubuntu and therefore should work with my net. I hope. I won't give 10 a try because Canonical is selling out and going closed source. So I am probably done with them after support ends.

One day I will have real internet and then I can just run whatever the heck I want to... I dream about that day... :dribble:

Actually, I can verify that they are abundant on irc servers.

Here is my desktop. Where it shows the open programs twice is where my screens split.

Ubuntu's gone waaaaay to commercial over the past few releases. When I get a computer which has a real BIOS(lmao) then I'm going to install Debian. P:. I previously installed Ubuntu on my MacBook but then I upgraded my OS from 10.5 to 10.6 and now the EFI has got ****ed up and will only dual-boot with a Windows OS- and even then it can be a total *****.
