Riddles

I can already see this "It's the answer to everyone's questions."

Someone: Hi, how are you doing?
Me: Water.

Intestine (a test tube)
Intestines need it, but are not it! Though it would be a lie to say they are not partly composed of it! As is pretty much all life.
This more in that direction than digestion! Digestion is one of millions of places it's required.
Think more towards the first three lines of riddle.

Oh yeah, test tubes were made for it!

You sometimes have to shake it,
If you really want to make it!

Or to really try and infuriate all here...

It is it's own answer!

If you really want to make it!

Or to really try and infuriate all here...

It is it's own answer!
The trouble is I think I know the answer but can't remember the word, also a synonym for suspension.

The solution to this riddle,
Is a single word,
I've written since my riddle,
If only you had heard!

(that's me being rather nasty! (he he he!))

Proteins?
Them is similar to my answer on amino acids (from which proteins are made - no, that's not a clue! 🙂)

But you won't get them made without being in my riddles answer!
C'mon, @Outdated was so so close, surely it's coming clear? (that was a clue at the end!)
