Paradox, contradiction, opposites or something like that?
@ UFO is the winner! I was wondering if anyone would look at what all the dual words had in common with each other. Good job! They all were opposites (opposite words).

All of those pairings were opposites .It makes perfect sense to the creator, and to the answerer perhaps too :) Of course some others will scratch their heads and still not get it :)

Well, not totally, as using the word 'this' in the original post I made, and removing the context of the misunderstanding, could also have been seen as referring to the previous riddle. But it was just chucked in as a light hearted 'barely a riddle' riddle, so I wasn't paying attention, sorry! (I blame the autism! 🤣🤣🤣)
 
There are many riddles that make no scents, like all riddles, as riddles are either written or spoken . They have no smell.
