Riddles

Third and fourth hint, then I'll reveal the answer and go to bed (it is getting late here):

The first hint that came with original post reveals most of the word, literally. Boogs almost got it.
 
Well... Beginning of word "acknowledgement" is "ack". You only have to add "b" to get "back", which you use to carry burdens set on it, and which you can't see without - for example - a mirror, especially if you are in so much pain that you can't even bend your head enough to see even the area over your butt (though I admit it might not count as "back", but I said I made the riddle in hurry). Boogs accidentally used the right word, but offered a wrong concept as an answer. But he had a right idea.
