Once again, I'm going to have to ask you for support for your claim about "the majority" who believe that ASD1 is not autism.

I believe ASD1 is not autism but Asperger’s syndrome. So that is 2/3 of us that believe ASD1 is not autism therefor the majority believe ASD1 is not autism.

I think reading random things online is distorting your views of what the majority believe. If you talk to people in person, I'm sure you'll get better responses. You could pull statements and stories from the internet just as well to prove the earth is flat.

Trying to explain neurodivergence under a neurotypical paradigm is almost impossible. This is why they call it a Spectrum. I’m ASD2 but I’m also High Function. I am not Aspergic.

There appears to be a bit of confusion about the term High Function as well, a lot of people use it in relation autistic people’s ability to socialise. I use it to refer to my level of intellect. Broad spectrum polymath.

And I really hate the term “Aspie”. It’s demeaning and degrading. I’m offended by the use of such a flippant term to describe one of the greatest minds my country has ever produced. Me.

There are other much better terms to use than aspie to describe us. But using such accurate historical terms would likely get our posts removed from this website.

Also I think the same as you do about aspie, but about autist. When I think autist I think ASD3 as do many people. Giving ASD1/2 and ASD3 the same name is simply an insult. I'd much rather be called an aspie than an autist.
