It's Little Christmas Eve here today, nothing but Christmas movies and Christmas food and snacks all evening long. So happy Little Christmas Eve everyone.

Well, just like a well orchestrated pestilence, he's back for an update :p

The jerky factory finally completed the production run of the Christmas contract well ahead of schedule.

The boys down at the plant dun real good I recon.
Might hafta give 'em a bonus, but it should be no problem because I will just deduct it from their next pay....I'm real gud wif my money, just sayin' :p

14 pounds of beef kids, not a task for the weak of mind or body.
In fact, it was brutal :emojiconfused:

All bagged up and ready for delivery:

Incidently, in the upper right side of this capture highlighted in red is a EICI ionizer assembly I helped design then later build when I was about 21.
No worries about it being heisted, it was a prototype that was slated for the scrap pile.
Was a shame, but it was in the name of progress where we did our part correct, but the electronical gurus missed their mark.
It was a rather expensive whoops ;)
It was just too pretty to toss in the can so it followed me home.
(I don't throw nuffin' away, cuz of that hoarder gene I got from my peeps)

It was a complicated little gadget, with upwards of of 700 or more pieces and a very labor intensive cleaning, assembly and testing protocol.
But it was still junk in the end, but I digress, this is supposed to be just about Christmas.
(it still was cuz it got moved during the holiday shuffle of a lot of the displays during a changing of the guards at my personal museum of oddities) :p

Anywho, as I was sayin' the holiday preparations are minutes away from completion, including the sacks of loot fer the kiddos

By gummy, come hell or high water, we can do this!

Christ Climbed Down

by Lawrence Ferlinghetti

Christ Climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year
and ran away to where
there were no rootless Christmas trees
hung with candycanes and breakable stars

Christ Climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year
and ran away to where
there were no gilded Christmas trees
and no tinsel Christmas trees
and no tinfoil Christmas trees
and no pink plastic Christmas trees
and no black Christmas trees
and no powederblue Christmas trees
hung with electric candles
and encircled by tin electric trains
and clever cornball relatives

Christ Climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year
and ran away to where
no intrepid Bible salesman
covered the territory
in two-tone cadillacs
and where no Sears Roebuck creches
complete with plastic babe in manger
arrived by parcel post
the babe by special delivery
and where no televised Wise Men
praised the Lord Calvert Whiskey

Christ climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year and ran away to where
no fat handshaking stranger
in a red flannel suit
and a fake white beard
went around passing himself off
as some sort of North Pole saint
crossing the desert to Bethlehem
Pennsylvania
in a Volkswagon sled
drawn by rollicking Adirondack reindeer
with German names
and bearing sacks of Humble Gifts
from Saks Fifth Avenue
for everybody’s imagined Christ child

Christ Climbed down
from His bare Tree
this year
and ran away to where
no Bing Crosby Carollers
groaned of a tight Christmas
and where no Radio City angels
iceskated wingless
thru a winter wonderland
into a jinglebell heaven
daily at 8:30
with Midnight Mass matinees

Christ Climbed Down
from His bare Tree
this year
and softly stole away into
some anonymous Mary’s womb again
where in the darkest night
of everybody’s anonymous soul
He awaits again
an unimaginable
and impossibly
Immaculate Reconception
the very craziest
of Second Comings.

Because the holidays have me in such a giving mood, I'm also in a taking one too

While I am still in a giving mood, I want to offer you is an opportunity to grow as I take 4 minutes and two seconds of your life you will never get back.
It will be a very moving experience.
Or a trainwreck

Either way, it's all good, I promise :innocent:

I cropped and repotted our ancient Christmas Cactus this past October. A major undertaking considering the age of the Cactus and its crumbling terracotta pot. I didn't expect the Cactus to bloom for at least a year, if not two...

The Christmas Cactus: You underestimate my power...

We're looking to get the biggest bloom it's had since we took it in.

I have one of those too :) Two actually, one pink and one purple. I have noticed that if I let it dry out and then water it, it starts to bloom.

The reason this is so important to me: We took our former foster daughter to Sea World and I loved the purple lights. I love the color purple and the purple lights wrapped round the trees Florida style really touched me. I tried to take a photo, but in the daylight the lights were washed out.

Our daughter stayed much later and totally to my surprise, sent me this little video:
