Video games you're playing?

plus their fanboys are incredibly thick IMO

Oh no that's fanboys in general! I don't get what has won these people over, these companies haven't done them any favours, they haven't been given anything for free so why the brand loyalty? It's dumb! You restrict yourself so much with sort of mentality. I don't care if you're biased to Apple, Nvidia, Intel, Xbox or PlayStation, none of these companies haven't done anything to earn that loyalty of yours. Shop with logic not with your heart.

If you need to extend part of your personality to a name, well, that's what sports teams are for. And if you don't like sports, go for esports.

plus their fanboys are incredibly thick IMO, the kind of people who would purchase used Bog roll if Sony packaged it and sold it to them because they're so devoted to the brand.

I was going to say, that's fanboys of anything but I see @Southern Discomfort beat me to it :p

To echo what he said, I find that if someone is a fanboy of absolutely anything, then they're usually not the brightest when it comes to trying to have a discussion about the opposite thing they love. If they're an Apple fanboy, they won't listen to anything you have to say about Android or Samsung for example. If they're a Pokemon fanboy, they don't want to hear anything about Digimon. If they're a PC fanboy, they have no time for consoles.

I love my Xbox, and I've had them since the original...but I can accept that there are things about the PlayStation that have been done better than the Xbox and @VenomousAlbino love his PS4 but can also accept there are things the Xbox does better. If there was a game that was Sony exclusive that I really wanted to play, then I would. Before the Xbox was a thing, I had a PS2 and an original PlayStation before that and I loved them. Before that, a GameCube and a Megadrive. I think the reason I went for Xbox over PS is that there were more games coming out for it that I wanted to play, rather than some great love for Microsoft or hatred of Sony.

In Android I've recently get fun in Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast and just installed Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow (it was recently release from the official tv creators with the original voice cast).

On pc Im playing RaceRoom Racing Experience, a free driving simulator and today I bought the Nürburgring Nordschleife legends DLC which includes 7 cars and the GP circuit as well as the 21Km circuit.´

I've gotten some new ones from the Steam sale. <3 I got:

- Rusty Lake: Roots
- Kathy Rain
- Orwell
- Mainlining
- Pony Island
- The Silver Case
- Replica

I've only finished Pony Island so far. It's cleverly made and super fun. :D Going to start Orwell next.

Hmm...that got me thinking. Aside from the occasional treat, I've begun to appreciate indie games more and more. It seems my eyesight can't handle AAA-title graphics and my mind rejects uncanny valley character models.

I downloaded the complete season of Life is Strange on Xbox One last night, 5 episodes for free.

Life Is Strange is one of my favorite games of the past few years. Its narrative goes to some really dark places and there was one twist in particular that was a real WTF? moment.

I also picked up Pony Island and Rusty Lake: Roots in the Steam sale. I started both but haven't finished either yet. They seem good so far. I'm glad you liked Pony Island. It's crazy fun from what I've played.

Rusty Lake is pretty twisted but good too. Some of the puzzles are a little confusing and I had to use the walkthroughs. Oh well, guess I'm getting lazy, lol.

I wanted to try Orwell but didn't get around to buying it this time. Maybe during the next sale. I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on it whenever you play it.

Besides PC games, I finally platinumed Final Fantasy XV on PS4. That took a little longer than I expected but it was worth it. The game was great. The storyline wasn't the best but I otherwise enjoyed it.

Sure, I'll tell you if it's any good once I get around to playing it this weekend.

In case you haven't tried it yet, have you played the Cube Escape series from the same developer as Rusty Lake? They're all available for free for iOS devices. I finished them a few months back...and also used a strat guide for some of the puzzles so no judgements here. :D

BTW, look...

<3 River Song. Also, the Tenth Doctor! Timey-wimey stuff.

Oh man! I so want one of those! Where did you buy, if you don't mind me asking? I've looked on Amazon for that screwdriver and only saw some not-so-nice looking or overpriced ones. But I really want... er... need that one. I already have 10, the Tardis, and a Dalek on my desk. I need the sonic to be complete. :D

Cool, I hope you like Orwell. I haven't tried Cube Escape. It looks like they have it for Android though so I'll give a try. Thanks!

Tennant's so cute in that gif! :D We got it from ThinkGeek before, but that was a few years back. They also had those Dalek salt and pepper shakers and Adipose plushies (prefer them in their plush form actually).

If it's out of stock in ThinkGeek, I hope you find a seller in eBay that'll price things reasonably. </3 scalpers! Exterminate! Lol.

Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 (the originals, not the DICE Reboots)

I used to love playing these two on my PS2, but unfortunately I had to get rid of my PS2 a couple of years ago (may he Rest In Peace), but a couple of weeks ago I got super-duper lucky and found the Xbox versions of both games at a thrift shop, and have been playing them ever since. :D

Another game I have been playing a lot is Halo: CE, a classic.

I've been playing Injustice 2 on Xbox this Afternoon, had a respectable bout online (even though I lost), and got a bit further into Story mode.

@Misery I unlocked Greedier Mode in Isaac yesterday. Dear God, that thing has given me a kick up the arse.

So did you get to fight Ultra Greed's gold form, then? Because obviously he wasnt enough of a rampaging ball of crazy to begin with. That mode is pretty darned hard though, yeah?

Just wait'll you get to try for the really nasty unlocks/achievements/whatever: like beating him with Keeper or The Lost. Or even worse, beating Delirium with either of those two. Not the most balanced idea, that. Hell, Keeper almost requires the Swallowed Penny in order to handle Delirium.

On another note: Have they brought any of the booster packs to that version of the game yet? I'm finally getting a Switch myself soon (just have to freaking FIND one), which means portable Isaac that doesnt involve holding my overly heavy iPad (boy did that get old fast), but it'll sure bug me if the blasted things havent hit that version yet. Particularly with stuff like the improved Angel Rooms. That change really highlighted how bad they were before, but now they're fantastic. Not to mention some of my favorite items being in those packs, like Broken Modem or the Mystery Gift.

No booster packs for the Switch version yet, I'm afraid. However, portable Isaac is the best way to play that game in my opinion; I got a lot of mileage out of my Vita anyway but Isaac pushed that off the scale.

And no, I didn't fight Greedier Mode Ultra Greed yet as I haven't managed to get past the caves :/

I bought Elite Dangerous on Xbox One today (for £1, cos I traded in that copy of Tekken 7 and got £39 trade in towards a £40 game).

So far it's decent, but I must admit I do prefer Space flight sims on the PC, slightly easier controls.

Ah, I see. The bloody things were supposed to be in that version by now, or so they said... I think Edmund has found the whole booster process to be a bit tougher than he originally thought. They actually ended up hiring a couple of extra guys JUST to work on the booster stuff, which says something.

Though to be fair I wouldnt be using the Switch version all that much anyway. When home there's no reason not to just use the PC version, so that'd mostly be for plane rides. So I guess it doesnt matter all that much in my case.

And yeah, Greedier mode is pretty irritating. Though to be honest, so are alot of that game's unlocks. I went through and did it like, once, and that was it. With Lilith. It mostly seemed very unbalanced instead of properly difficult, though Ultra Greed himself in that mode is kinda interesting. Patience snapped after that. I ended up just saying "screw it" and downloading a completed save... I'm not in it for the unlocks anyway.

I'll never understand why alot of players seem to NEED unlocks and permanent progression in games like this to have a reason to keep playing. Whatever happened to playing a game just because it's a good game? Feh. That's a rant for another day though.

In terms of unlocks, after 145+ hours on the Switch version I have every character except Keeper and every ending except Greedier Mode, and that's without touching the challenges. I've accepted that I could feasibly put thousands of hours into this game (and I probably will) and not unlock everything, but I'll enjoy trying nonetheless.

I've now fought Ultra Greed's gold form twice (both times as Samson); the first time he annihilated me but the second time I came sickeningly close to beating him. Going in, I had health, damage and rate of fire stats maxed out along with electric tears and piercing shots, and the slither of health he had left when he killed me almost had me throwing the Switch across the room.
