What did you like to watch growing up?

let me know if I already mentioned this, but...

my cousins roped me and my brother into watching PPG and I just liked
it because of the BLOOD AND VIOLENCE.
haha. cool.

I remember I enjoyed this very much.

I used to like watching the Pink Panter a bit as well. I have decided to put it on Youtube today.

Penelope Pitstop I wacthed that as well. Cannot remember the name of the programme. Also, Captiann Caveman and it used to shout like that. For now that is all I remember, but I will look it up.

The Smurfs right, not seen it mentioned much or at all. My brother one of them used to like them a lot and I would catch it as he was watching it.

I think it was the Perils of Penelope Pitstop, but I'm not sure either :) I only remember those characters because they were also in Wacky Races.

Mr. Dressup
Sesame Street
The Flintstones
The Smurfs
Golden Age cartoons like Loony Tunes and Disney
The Muppet Show
Garfield, as in the TV specials and Garfield and Friends

I watched Fraggle Rock. That was magical for a little kid. :)

I'm giving away my age but I will say Land of the Lost was painfully good with slow moving lizard people and dinasaurs.

Thank you, I watched a few today on Youtube, that pink car was stand out. The nasty villian from memory was he called Gargamel or something lol.

That Captian Caveman is kind of freaky when thinking about it now. It was strange but a good laugh as a child.

Moving pictures were very rare. I saw home movies first. Then there were some cartoons and "Carry On" (British comedy series) shows to keep the mob quiet at the YMCA. I was eight or nine when we got a TV, but we had to read the TV Guide and plan how to use our limited allowance of screen time, which included the whole family watching the Ed Sullivan show. I was quite amazed at the variety at other houses, where they would just dial around. I was taken to movies and live plays a few times a year.

Does anyone else remember Jet Jackson? Mr Squiggle? Felix? (I can still remember bits of the songs and catchphrases.) I can remember staying at a motel in Taree where we had to go to the “TV lounge” to watch Jet Jackson on the one (1) TV the motel owned. Don’t get me started on the rest. Mr Magoo, Captain Pugwash, Clutch Cargo - cutting edge animation with blended live action ;), Magic Roundabout, the Magic Boomerang, Flowerpot Men (want some weeeed?) Andy Pandy. Also got Sooty and Sweep, and more US cartoons than you could poke a stick at, few of which have been mentioned so far except by @Richelle-H (who may also remember the Lone Ranger?) and a bunch of the earlier ones in the list from @Yeshuasdaughter. I watched the introduction of colour TV to Australia, which was shown during the Aunty Jack Show. They had the colour filling up the TV from the bottom of the screen, with Kid Eager diving into it and “swmming around” in colour. All lost on me as our TV was B&W then and for years to come.

I see you like snoopy. I love Charlie Brown! I know I sound young but I’m old enough to know what Charlie Brown is. My parents and I watched it together when I was little. They introduced me to it.

I grew up on Peanuts and I still enjoy it today. It's one of my comfort food franchises.
