what is genius, how do we measure it?

Me neither but I'm not too bothered. Social skills are more important to me than knowing what the square root of a million is.
A thousand … people might say this but I often have trouble realising when they have stopped listening - social deficits much? There are many things I am NOT a genius at - I discover more all the time. Sometimes helpful people point them out for me. Nobody has so far told me what I AM a genius at, if there is such a thing, but I’m not sure I need to find out. Does anybody?

I'm no genius but got the called such a few times once years ago when a trade magazine asked me to write a article on my career, and second a few weeks ago when I contacted a second forth cousin after soliciting her help in solving a puzzle I was working on. I told her she was mistaken but conceded junior genius.

In the Arts "Banksy' that is a genius, to bad he / she is anonymous sticks finger at the pretentious arts and elites
concurrently.

Just watched a video on unexpected signs of giftedness, her list seemed to me a list of signs your on the spectrum.

Is the guy who did pi too 25,000 digits and speak islandic in a week a genius Read his book, no brighter than me. So genius cannot be straight IQ.

I am slowely noticing my grand daughter may be gifted, no idea how much So I wanted to try and guess using a z-table on intelligence I put together years ago my family has a mean IQ of around 135, dad uncles cousins, siblings
and the general population has a defined standard deviation of 15 points . This is what I came up with.

The more I hear from my son the more impressed I am with my grand daughter. Does he have a genius on his hands only time will tell.

Not sure an actual definition of "genius" is possible.

"Genius" seems to be a vague term encompassing an array of dissimilar objects, each composed of separate components, mixed in a variety of ways.

A genius, on the other hand, is easy to identify based on the positive impact they have had (note the past tense) on our world.

History will judge us.

Message just received from my son. Starting to get how gifted she may be. I want to go for walk too Raining out.
pissing me off.

Tell dad this little story about what she did yesterday... She grabbed her shoes and gave them to me so I put them on her.

She grabbed my foot so I took my flip flops off. Then she grabbed my socks from the floor so I put those on.

Next she gave me my boots. Pretty obvious her intentions now.

Lastly she pointed to the other room to which I immediately knew what she wanted.

We walked to the room and she grabbed her stroller to move it as it was inaccessible to her in a corner. Once accessible she climbed right into it and we were ready for the walk she obviously wanted to go on.

Having fun watching u-tube videos on geniuses, Paul Erdos, Linus Pauling, Claude Shannon, William Hamilton, and others like the back stories.

The weird thing is when I had my stroke, while I was woken by my cat I got a message what you seek is information.
So when I left the hospital I got the DVD lectures on information, watched it. and like I have done for years got curious what was Ed Witten working on. Found out he was interested in information even checked out so lectures
almost fainted. What was going on. Did my stroke put me on the same trail as the worlds best living physicist.
That was five years ago. No idea what Ed is currently doing. Would like know, what or who is feeding me info, while sleeping, really helped me on my physics thread. I have lost my job once unemployed for two years been on strike for six months, so for next time joined negotiating committee did not like being on the outside looking in.
